My schedule this semester has been all over the place. Last spring I would #mealprep on Sunday & Wednesday, but this fall I’ve been flying by the seat of my pants and making it when I can. Bottom line though: I get that food made! Tonight’s #mealprep was some @mahatmariceusa jasmine rice, @housefoodsamerica roasted tofu, zucchini from the garden, and @aldiusa chickpeas. It’s been awhile since I made jasmine rice & I always forget how delicious it is even on its own. Hope you all are ending your week on a great note! Thought I’d give my opinions on Alani nu since y’all have been curious from my stories ! I actually even get questioned at work lol In all honesty I thought these were another mainstream product and that’s what prevented me from trying them out for awhile. I finally gave in and it turns out it’s my favorite pre-workout to date and is the first to not give me pins and needles in my hands/ears or a headache before my workout. I initially bought the lit preworkout and that was just the worst. I returned it and was like ugh...give me the alani nu. 💥Boom💥 hooked lol For the energy drinks, I get no crashes and the flavors are good. This is coming from someone who isn’t into sugary flavors so that says a lot. I know one shouldn’t always drink energy drinks , but I’m a nurse and sometimes yo girl needs help ok 🤷🏽‍♀️ I was enjoying mimosa flavor , sour peach rings, tropsicle then finallyyyy tried Hawaiian shave ice and I was done right there lol it tastes like a piña colada. They both have no sugar and I believe the energy drink has 10 calories and is slightly bubbly. As Progesterone becomes dominant over Estrogen, especially in your LATE Luteal Phase, you may notice the following: Decreased motivation, more water retention, more aches/pains, easily distracted, increased cravings/hunger due to an increased metabolic rate, and a higher body temp. That higher body temp contributes to increased fatigue and lower muscular endurance as well. - Therefore, women may be less likely to tolerate training and life stress at this time. Rather than “pushing through," consider reducing training intensity and volume. This DOES NOT mean becoming sedentary. One of the best things you can do is to focus on walking. Walking is one of the only forms of activity that sensitizes the whole body to Insulin and lowers Cortisol. Yoga is another great option. Other suggestions would be to reduce sets/reps, decrease weight/focus on technique, focus on bodyweight movements, and incorporate more low to moderate intensity steady state cardio. - Since you're slightly more Insulin-resistant during this time, you could opt to become a bit more fat dominant in your macro distribution. Added fats can also help manage increased hunger/cravings by keeping your blood sugar stable. - If you experience a lot of difficulty with hunger/cravings during your Luteal Phase, I would not recommend cutting calories. The point is to eat enough to manage those cravings. However, if you drastically reduce your activity level, you may find that your appetite drops as well - and adjust by lowering calories slightly. - Any changes that you DO make should not be drastic or sudden. Don't cut your carb or calorie intake in half. Ease yourself into these changes and figure out what works best for you. It may take trial and error to do so. - If you’re a performance-based athlete, things may be different. Rising Progesterone levels can make it more difficult for you to access your stored glycogen. If performance is your number one concern - I actually would recommend adding in MORE carbs during your Luteal Phase, esp if activity remains high. However, carb quality matters! Complex carbs and fiber are best to help stabilize your blood sugar.

I used a Joseph's pita as the base, and loaded it up with some light mozzarella, fat free cheddar, and some parmesan. Looking at 245 calories for lunch. Yummers. . Got a bunch of snacks packed for my trip. Haven’t been posting much about Autumns TABLE aka my foodie side !!! Hello!!!?!? Since being at school my food life has been DRY. I eat the same thing everyday and I love it 😂 I am a creature of habit when it comes to food and rarely change it up unless I find something new. I am going to try and change it up more often, I even have a kitchen.. so there is no excuse.
