Keto Chocolate Chip Cookies🍪 Ingredients: •1 + 1/4 cups almond flour •1/2 cup erythritol •1 tbsp beef gelatin powder •1 tsp baking powder •1 scoop @vpx_sports vanilla dream SRO Zero Carb protein powder •1/2 cup butter, melted •1 large egg •1 tsp vanilla extract •1/2 cup lily's chocolate chips - Preparation: 1. Preheat your oven to 350 and line two baking sheets with parchment paper. - 2. Combine the almond flour, beef gelatin, erythritol, baking powder and Protein powder in a small bowl and set aside. - 3. In a large bowl combine the metled butter, egg, and vanilla extract using a whisk. In two batches add the dry ingredients to the wet and combine until uniform. - 4. Fold in the chocolate chips. Let’s talk ketosis for a sec as I prick my fingers to test my blood ketones. There are 4 major ways to induce ketosis: 1. Fasting - aka no food (also no fun) but the quickest way to start producing YOUR OWN (endogenous) ketones 2. Ketogenic Diet - high fat, moderate protein, very low carb diet, also effective at producing endogenous ketones 3. Medium Chain Triglycerides - Yup, your bulletproof coffee could be sending some ketones to that brain of yours, even without carbohydrate restriction 4. Exogenous ketones - aka ketones made outside of the body and taken like a supplement. I think all the exogenous ketones on the market are BHB (you can correct me if I’m wrong!!) and typically ketone-salts, unless you’re ballin’ and can afford ketone-esters (more potent) 1 & 2. Fasting and the ketogenic diet work by depleting glycogen stores and suppressing the hormone insulin so that either those pesky fat cells will let go of their stored fat, or the fat from the diet will deliver free fatty acids to the liver to turn them into the magical (biased) molecules that we call ketones. The liver sends these ketones into the blood to be delivered to our other tissues and organs (our brain and heart ❤️ ketones). 3. MCTs are special. They are what we call a “functional fat”. When we consume MCTs they are broken down to medium chain fatty acids that bypass normal fatty acid metabolism and go straight for the liver. They enter ketogenesis at the level of acetyl-coA (the precursor to ketones) and go on to synthesize ketones (also endogenously, but kind of act like an exogenous ketone). 4. Exogenous Ketones basically cheat the system and deliver ketones rapidly into circulation - in a good way! I’m all for exogenous ketones, I don’t believe they should replace the ketogenic diet but I’m on board for their therapeutic potential. So when we consider the word ketosis, we now have to consider all the different ways of achieving it. Originally, it would have meant we were producing ketones within the body, but we now have strategies to elevate ketones with diet and supplements - which is super cool considering the emerging roles of ketones beyond metabolism🧬

New coffee bought at Aldi. I did give it a try after seeing many recommendations across internet. This coffee cost me whole £1.49 😂😂😂 After having a one serving I am quite impressed with the taste. Usually I am buying nespresso flavoured capsules. This one isn't keto for me as is instant. Everyone who knows me is aware that I am doing clean keto for the medical reason. I am sceptical about instant coffee generally and I always encourage people to buy coffee beans and use bean to cup machine or other alternative ways to make fresh coffee. Although the new instant coffee is worth to try.
