I don’t want my IG to become some sort of expectation or desire for myself or you. Feeling the need to always say or read something profound, wise, deep and conscious. Im in a very introspective place, and simply don’t have much to say right now, and the more I’ve gone along in my yoga practice and my teaching journey, I’ve realised it’s actually more useful to be still and quiet a lot of the time. I mostly have backbends I hate less than other backbends. So, I chose #wheelpose. Truth be told, today I am doing all I can to keep my anxiety in check. It has been one year and one day since I slipped into @bennrasmussen DM’s. I was being silly and cheeky, and I said ‘ I think I am in love with you ‘ his response was so simple, he said ‘ how is your day going ‘. And that’s my man all over, so simple, so uncomplicated, still, calm and collected. All of the qualities I wish I had a little more of, and the opposite of everything I generally tend to embody. It was a month later I bought a plane ticket and we spent such a special weekend together, I remember we sat at the end of that weekend and we said ‘ well it’s been lovely, but this is never going to work, you live here and I live in London, let’s just honour the connection and move on doing our work to become better for ourselves’. As soon as I got back to London, Benn had bought a plane ticket to come and see me a few weeks later. We will be getting married in December, and I know it’s absolutely the right move for both of us. I have realised this past year that people shouldn’t be responsible for saving you, but if you can find a true love who not only supports you, but sees you for all you are, and chooses to be with that person, that’s worth working for. I almost deleted my IG before I connected with Benn on here, and I am so glad that I didn’t. It’s not all bad, and you might be surprised at what you find on here if you just stick around. I love you, my button head. Looking forward to the many years ahead. 💖

I had a strange conversation today with a fellow teacher, who expressed his frustrations to me because his students didn’t want to ‘handstand’ or ‘headstand’. He said he wasn’t happy that the level of student at this particular studio was beginner to intermediate, baring in mind, this is someone I don’t believe to have a particularly ‘advanced’ practice himself. It made me think about my relationship with the practice. - The truth is, yoga took a little while to come into my life, but when it did, it was clear that we were made for each other. - I am endomorph, robust in my body with strong joints, and natural flexibility, so the physical and externalised expression of the practice was a breeze, that paired with the addictive mindset of obsession and compulsion, made for a fast progression through the asana which gave people the illusion I had been practicing for much longer than I had been. - I believed that this validated me as a teacher, and I would often centre my teaching on my own projections and physical experience of the practice, without realising that each student has unique needs which create an individualised experience from one person to the next. - It was only in my past year of teaching and training with some incredible teachers that I have come to a place of stillness and learnt this about myself.. - Just because I can, doesn’t mean I am, and just because I could, doesn’t mean I should. - As Maty Ezraty once said - ‘an advanced practitioner is someone who is infinitely curious in Trikonasana’ - Namaste

Take asana, for example - the. definition i most resonate with is ‘ to abide ‘. I like this, because it infers the practice is a discipline, that which needs to be abided, to accept or be in accordance with. Breaking down physical barriers and learning to let go of rigidity and stagnantatnon in our physical selves, will eventually allow us to abide in the movements of our minds. Good morning everyone!! First of all, I'm sorry for this long absence, I have been quite busy on college things so I decided to take some days off of IG 💆 and care about my studies a little bit more 🙋 Sometimes I'm really wondering what's the philosophy's work nowadays, I don't doubt it's a useful one but in which way? The philosophical work around the world has been hard and very different depending on the place and lines research. Philosophy had changed a lot since the modern age and currently had been tagged as a useless subject in many contexts (like my country, Mexico) I mean "use" because this is not a "technical" or "practical" subject by itself, it has to collaborate with something else to have sense. Philosophy cares about the human in all the human ways, but it seems not be useful for the current situation, specially because it's really hard to find some "philosopher" (I mean in the common and habitual daily life, at least in my country) that really understand the simple things in the life and able to do a good self interpretation about it, without being convinced about some side before. The study and knowledge are very important but the main point is to take them and attend human questions in a coherent, self critic, well based and (many times) hard argument. What do you think is the task of the philosophy nowadays? Besides to create theoretical tools for solve some human problems... 💪 I'm sorry if I did a "weird" caption 😅 but I had to share it haha at least in a general way, I'm not trying to convince anyone, just sharing some point of view 🙏 In other news... Hello everyone!! Today I'm sharing a picture to myself, not for some challenge (I will share later for #StrongFlexyShoulders & #PressingDreams ), instead, some pose I got today from my practice 🙏 . I couldn't decide which one to post so here are both #kingpigeon hoping you like them 🙋💕 I have been pretty tired the past days but not in a physical way, but in a mental one (considering that I still have a cold and sore throat). Having college and home things as a student wife are not easy sometimes. That's nothing strange as many of you know my point perfectly, you all out dealing everyday with a lot of things and trying their best to get them done. I'm that kind of perfectionist girl that always want everything well done, I use to overreach specially about studying, I like to learn new things and I enjoy doing a practical knowledge. But this time I just want to stop. I learnt to read when I was 3 years old, I was not even in the kindergarten and I wanted to read every book or magazine that I found at home. I used to say to my school's teachers when they were saying something wrong. I studied ethology (like psychology but for the animals) when I was 11. I was so happy doing experiments and learning about mechanics and physics. I was pretty good at maths class. I have many information about almost everything but that doesn't mean anything when I feel that I need to stop, just for a moment. I want to turn back and reconsider what have been 'till now. Does someone feels me? 🙋 What's your perspective about it? I remember the first time we met, and we were shaking as we held each other, how that weekend was so magical because it reminded me that I was ready to love someone, because I had learnt how to finally love myself, and through my capacity to love you I have increased my capacity for self love each day. Thank you for always reminding me who I am, and even at the times I feel lost or alone or unsure, for asking me the questions I need to answer to come back to my centre, back to the man who lives in response to the abundance of love and support he has. I know I have nothing to fear, cause I have you by my side.

I just want to be invincible, untouchable, infallible and perfect. Sometimes I get so scared, that I don’t want to leave my bed in the morning, that no amount of yoga, meditation, plant based meals, therapy, recovery or sobriety will save me from that wretched little monster I know I can be. But if there’s one thing I know for sure, it’s that my feelings aren’t facts, that to centre myself on my anxiety and fear is equally as dangerous as centring myself on my happiness and clarity - because the truth is, neither lasts forever. I was fortunate enough to have one of my teachers in class last night, a force of a woman (4th series ashtangi!). I was able to share the yin practice with her, my primary style of teaching and what has been most profound in my own journey of healing and realisation. Afterwards she said it was interesting to explore a practice that is much more open and expansive about being with our own individual experiences and just accepting whatever those experiences are. Thank you @corrieanandayoga - it is a reminder to myself to apply that methodology to my life, especially on days like today. Namaste

Although he did not use the term "externalism" at the time, Putnam is thought to have pioneered semantic externalism in his 1975 paper "The Meaning of 'Meaning'".
