Plant based protein isn’t going to make you look like a gorilla. In order to improve body composition and build new muscles we need to: 1️⃣. Train progressively 2️⃣. Consume enough protein to hit your minimum requirement and stimulate MPS every 3-5 hours. But, how much is enough and where do we get it from? It is recommended that protein intake can be set at 1g/lb of body weight. Anything above this provides no real extra benefits and due it being the most taxing macronutrient on the digestive system, you may run into some GI issues. To maximally stimulate MPS you need all 9 EAAs, with leucine having the greatest response dosed at 3-5g. The amino acid profile of plant based protein is very poor and far less bioavailable than its meat counterparts. Protein from meat and protein from plants just isn’t the same. Try and get 5g leucine from a head of broccoli😂 But I’ve watched The Game Changers, gorillas and cows are massive 🦍🐄🥬 Gorillas and cows digestive systems and colons are much larger than humans. They have a bacteria in the gut that ferments cellulose (fibre) and turns it into fatty acids (a dense form of calories). This explains how they get so many calories from plants. They also synthesise amino acids far better than humans, helping them build bigger muscles more effectively. Plus, we’re not fucking gorrilas or cows.
