After my incredible watchless run on Tuesday, I had a need for speed and structure today🏃‍♀️ Since I thought it was going to rain I took it to the 'mill (and of course it didn't rain any while I was running🤷‍♀️) and had myself a great workout! I'm sure enjoying this time off from rigorous training and having some fun with my workouts while in maintenance mode, but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't itching to get back at it🙄 Oh you know, just typical runner problems over here lol! Want better abs!?! Here’s one of my secrets. Seriously. _ No special lighting. No professional photographers. Nothing fancy at all actually. Just my phone on a squat rack recording something I do every day! If you’ve heard me talk about the benefits for the 50 “heavy” unbroken kettlebell Swings a day, then you already know why I do this! If not I’ll give you a quick rundown... _ 1.) This is one thing I’ve done for a long time that I truly think makes a HUGE difference in the appearance of my abs. It’s a game changer in my opinion. 2.) As you get better and you’re able to swing a heavier bell, you start to develop insanely strong glutes, hamstrings, and core muscles. 3.) It’s not super intimidating. Even though it sucks somedays, I always feel like I can do it. That feeling of getting it done, just mentally means everything to me. _ I want to do it too!?! Haha ok, here’s what to do: 1.) Swing the heaviest kettlebell you can for 50 reps IN A ROW. If you have to put it down, that’s ok, keep working on it. Don’t have a heavier one? Ok, so 100 with your lighter one. 2.) Notice my form in the video. I’m NOT squatting. I’m HINGING forward, driving the KB back, and driving my hips forward. Still can’t figure it out!? Sunday morning fitness test. Always get nervous before I do these short, intense WODs as I know I have to go all out for time and it’s going to hurt like hell. Today was the 21-15-9 Deadlift (60kg), burpee combo. Was one year ago I think I last done this properly. Time was 5:19 last year. . . Even though I know my cardio fitness has fallen off last 3 months I’m happy to score 4:05 (was desperately trying to get under 4mins 😩) but still over a minute faster than a year ago. 1 year older and 1 minute faster. I’ll take that. Friday's clips and it was quite a simple day. a double on deadlifts and some benching to follow it up. 150kg for 2x2 120kg for 3x6 The some sets on bench with 65kg and finished off with barbell lunges. Deadlift starting to feel better and my back position is looking better. Bench is following suit and starting to come together. Leg drive and back tightness is feeling good.
