Anyone do yoga in the off season? In season? Lately I have been addicted to yoga....it may be I really want to get my hip to get completely back into place and the off season is a great time to do that....although I am not really doing the swimming or cycling. I have muscle memory...I can get the fitness back. But if i keep doing the other stuff so I don’t have time for yoga, I feel like i am dragging the recovery out longer. It has also curbed my appetite. Less training means less eating. We have choices and right now, my choice of movement is yoga... lots of yoga lately And I started running again followed by yup, yoga. How do you deal with injuries? #eatwhatyouneed #intuitiveeating #nutritioninmotionpa #yogatoday #hiprehab #intuitivemovement #dowhatfeelsrightforyou

❓Do you have pain in the front of your hip❓ . The hip flexor group consists of the Psoas major, Iliacus muscle, Tensor fasciae latae muscle and the Sartorius muscle (swipe for pics). . Potential problems in the hip flexors can range from asymptomatic snapping to painful irritation of the tendon and underlying bursa. . When the muscle is excessively tight, its tendon may rub or even produce an audible snapping sound when passing over the underlying bony landmark. . When painless, the condition is termed "Asymptomatic Internal Snapping Hip Syndrome." . Psoas tendinopathy often arises secondary to repetitive flexion of an externally rotated hip. The condition is commonly termed "dancer's hip" or "jumper's hip", as movements associated with these activities predispose participants to injury. . The condition is also seen in athletes who participate in resistance training, rowing, track and field, running (especially uphill), soccer, and gymnastics, and hurdling. . Ongoing irritation may lead to an inflammatory reaction involving the tendon and/or underlying bursa, while chronic irritation may lead to painful tendon degeneration and fibrosis. . Long-standing snapping can lead to weakness or an altered gait, which can then lead to low back and hip pain. . Stretching and strengthening exercises should be directed at the hip flexors and rotators, so get started on these today! 1. Reclined hip flexion over an object 2. Supine hip circles 3. Mountain climbers . - Dr. Joe Denke Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner . Questions? Hey, I hope everyone is having a good week so far. From my Tuesday physio session, it didn’t end well because I got upset/disappointed that I didn’t do so well with my Crab Walking exercise with a band around my ankles. Instead this exercise was very hard, it ended up a bit more painful & Crab Walking I use to be able to do well. My physio told me that since I hadn’t done this exercise for months & I’m doing Rehab from a 2nd hip surgery, that’s probably why I didn’t do well with the crab walking. And I know I’m disappointed about it & maybe being a bit too hard on myself. But I am thankful that I was able to talk with someone from Suncare Community Services to talk through how I was feeling. I got to remember that my Hip is improving & this exercise called: The Knee Leg Extension Over a Foam Roller. This exercise helps to strengthen my quad. I got to try my best to remember the exercises that I am improving with. @tonedbyashybines @ashys_squad @lornajaneactive #pinkspirationfitness #pinkspirationbpdcoach #tonedbyashybines #ashysquad #lornajaneactive #physio #physiotherapy #pt #bpd #bpdrecovery #mentalhealth #mentalhealthawareness #nevergiveup #2ndlabraltearrepair #labraltearrecovery #labrumrepair #hiprehab #hiprehabilitation #hiprehabrecovery #fit #fitspo #fitspiration #fitness #fitnessmotivation #fitnessjourney #fitnessinspiration #wellness #mentalhealthwarrior #exercise

TFL (hip flexor muscle) Release. Tensor Fascia Latae (TFL) is one of many hip flexor muscles. It is only an accessory muscle, but if left tight and short😬, it can contribute to excessive hip flexion, and internal rotation, which can cause knee❗️, hip❗️, or lower back❗️ issues, while inhibiting glutes and wreaking havoc in lumbo-pelvic region. Give this release method a try. Comment below if you find it helpful👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼👇🏼. #rehab #lowerbackrehab #hiprehab #kneerehab #tflrelease

[On addressing the entire kinetic chain in rehab] . Why am I doing this silly exercise? . Recently, I’ve started feeling some irritation and cramping on the outside of my left hip not only with squats and deadlifts, but also while just walking around in everyday life. . My knee is also buckling inward a bit under heavy loads and I’m having more and more trouble keeping my balance on single leg exercises such as lunges and step-ups. . After self-assessment, I’ve attributed this to two main issues: Weaker left hip (glute) muscles, and poor stability and joint sense awareness through my left ankle and foot. . The result is that my hip defaults in to internal rotation (knee rotated inwards) and the arch of my foot flattens as a resulting compensatory strategy. . Did my hip issue cause my foot issue or did my foot issue cause my hip issue? It’s a true “chicken or the egg” scenario…difficult (and likely irrelevant) to determine. . However, if I don’t address both, nothing is going to change. If I have a weak foot with poor stability, my hip will continue to drive inward in response to my weak arch. If I have a weak hip that defaults inward, my foot will stay flat to compensate for the knee position that this creates. . One unaddressed issue will continue to drive the other. . So, I’m using this as one of several exercises to strengthen my hip, improve the stability through my foot, and develop better neuromuscular coordination through the entire lower kinetic chain. . Rehab, and especially “performance rehab” always needs to encompass the whole picture. . #painfreefitness #fitnesspainfree #strengthandconditioning #traininginjury #traininginjuryrehab #hiprehab #anklerehab #glutestrength #physiotherapy #physioswholift

Workout 5! Really related back to my quote of the week, "the only bad workout os the one you didnt do". It was the hardest workout I've conquered so far. I wanted to give up a couple times but the hubby @physicsoffitnessllc helped me push thru. I still had to listen to my hips and keep it light, fear of reinjury/flare up is always on back of my mind. When my hips flare up I cant walk without crutches and therefore cant work either of my jobs as they are very active. So here is to continuing my #hiprehab. #physicsoffitnessllc #weightlossjourney #weightlossmotivation #weightloss #nevergiveup #nobadworkouts #healthy #repfitness #deadlift #increaseweight #lifestylechange #workoutmotivation #workout #workoutroutine

Let's talk about hips! 😊 It's so important to train and rehab hip control/pelvic control and single leg control for rehab to running and other sports. The glutes play a large role in this control along with the deep muscle system. The muscles around the hip can also be involved in contributing to lower back pain, groin pain and lateral hip pain amongst others. A little bit of maintenance with hip and pelvic control work can go a long way 😊🙌. Here are some examples of simple hip control and strengthening exercises😊 🦵. Also, a nice hip opener stretch👌. 🚨[THE PREVALENCE OF HIP AND GROIN PROBLEMS IN PROFESSIONAL ICE HOCKEY]🚨 - - Great new study from Sweden looking at the prevalence reported by the players, and not the incidence, of hip and groin problems in professional ice hockey. One of the issues with past research on this has been that it’s often based on time lost from injuries. This research suggests that >50% of the sample had groin and hip problems but that 48% of them didn’t miss any time, uncovering a potential flaw in previous research that underestimated the prevalence of hip and groin issues. - - Another shocking finding is that the players who had longer symptoms the previous season had reported worse hip function at the beginning of the new season. To me this suggests that 1) we aren’t doing a good enough job of getting these players ready for the stress of playing 2) we aren’t completing the whole continuum of rehab for athletes. - - In my opinion, all hockey players should be doing some sort of hip and groin prehab (ROM/soft tissue work and strengthening) to prevent these issues. We also need to use the off-season as an opportunity to help our athletes get healthy so they arrive at camps ready to go!

🗣HIP FLEXOR TENDINOPATHY🗣 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 😣Tendinopathy can be a tricky frustrating injury to deal with as the individual has usually dealt with the issue for a fairly long time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 😳There is no overnight fix or magical pill you can take for instant results. Tendinopathy management usually revolves around initially desensitizing the area by removing stressors and gradual reexposure to tolerable loads and sensitive positions. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🥳Since tendons respond super well to loading, we want to start exposing it to some form of stress and load that the individual is able to tolerate in order drive positive adaptations at the structural levels. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 😎At the same time, we want to be sure not to overload and staying within the tendon’s envelope of function. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Shown are 3 exercises that I may prescribed for an individual as they progress along the different phases of the continuum. Happy Loading! 1️⃣Supine Hip Flexor Isometrics 2️⃣Unilateral RDL w/adduction 3️⃣Bar hanging banded leg raises ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🤗As always feel free to ask any questions you may have! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ❗️Tag a friend who could utilize these exercises!

All I’ve learned since Februa

Well my hip rehab is going very well ! - All I’ve learned since February when I’ve first meet the LetsBands concept and all this movement knowledge from @dimifitness it helped me with my recovery after a hip injury I had on 1st of June this summer. - I’ve had to test and make practice on myself a lot.The result ?? I’ve learned to walk properly,I gained my mobility back,I’ve found that hip balance again and I was on kinking too... So you tell me.😁 One of the doctors said: do not do anything, but anything at all for at least 12 weeks.WTF? Hell no!!!So I’ve had a full summer lower body recovery movements and workouts only with my powerbands 🔥💪 - And now, the Corrective Movement Coach LetsBands L2 course opened my eyes wider and made me curious to learn even more about this insane machine, our body. - It literally changed my conception about movement and working properly not only with myself, but with my clients too. - #movment #correctivemovement #strengthening #mobility #stability #hiprehab #functionalmovement #movebetter #rangeofmotion #recovery

vlad_rehab.

(National Joint Registry for England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man, 12th Annual Report,

Q & A
1💥How hip mobility improve my body-alig

Hip Mobility Benefits. Q & A 1💥How hip mobility improve my body-alignment? When hips are open, there is more range of movement, better circulation, and more support for the muscles of the back and the spine, helping the joints of the lower back, hips and legs to come better alignment.💥 2💥Why is important to open your hips? Releasing Stress: One of the main benefits of hip openers is stretching muscles that are directly connected to our stress response... Better circulation, and more support for the muscles of the back and the spine.💥 3💥What is the difference between stability and mobility? Mobility relates to movement while stability relates to control. Stability is defined as the ability to maintain control of joint movement or position by coordinating actions of surrounding actions of surrounding tissues and the neuromuscular system.💥 4💥What causes weak hip flexors? The combination of sitting and heavy use of the muscle during activity causes it to become shortened...Other common problems that are associated with hyperlordosis are wrack abdominal muscles, weak hamstrings, tight low back, as well as tight hip flexors.💥 5💥How do you fix body alignment?’Alignment refers to how the head, shoulders, spine, hips, knees and ankles relate and line up with each other. Proper alignment on the body puts less stress on the spine and helps you have good posture. 💥 💥💥💥 practice the exercises suggested on video!💥💥💥 🔻 🔻 like👍, comment💬, share and #️⃣ a friend!⤵️ 🔻 🔻 #hipmobility #properalignment #sportschiropractor #hipinjury #hippain #hippainrelief #anteriorpelvictilt #hipopener #hipopeners #hipopening #warmupexercise #hipstrength #tighthips #hipflexibility #tighthipflexors #hipstability #rangeofmotion #hiprehab #hipworkout #mobilitychallenge #yogaposes #healthyhips #hipflexorstretch #hipflexorstrength #exercises #nrg_touch #reposting

HIP INTERNAL ROTATION ISOMETRICS 🧘🏻‍♂️ . Featuring my good friend and client Anthony - whose favourite things are taking the piss out of me and hitting me with foam rollers (watch to the end). Oh what fun we have 😐 . After his joint assessment we found Anthony could do with more internal rotation of his hip - particularly his left. Before this video we had spent time opening up a bit more range using the @functionalrangeconditioning PAILS/RAILS technique #fitnessjargonalert 🚨this means a combination of targeted stretching and muscle contractions). . What we are doing here is an end-range hold designed to strengthen the new range we free’d up. This will encourage his central nervous system to secure that new range . Listen in for my cues and explanations as we go. And try not to be put off by Anthony’s incredible leggings 🎀 . #unlockyourself🔐

I’ve had the pleasure of working with professional Jai Alai player @a.correa_ since September of this year. . . Given the nature of his sport and the amount of time he has to dedicate to play from Wed-Sunday, his recovery and rehabilitation have been key to his performance on the court. . . Recently he had a right hip strain. Rolling has been a movement I’ve incorporated into rehab programs for about 7 years now when I first introduced to it in California via SFMA. . . Rolling is a movement that emphasizes the entire body. In the initial phases seen here with lower body flexion rolling, it includes hip active range of motion, (the added tension by the bands increases force production and motor unit recruitment). With upper body extension rolling we add segmental movement of the cervical and thoracic spine along with shoulder extension & external rotation. . . Seeing the connections within our anatomy and then applying them to a movement, skills and sports is truly a work of art. And one worth taking the time to practice. It looks easy but things aren’t always what they seem. #mti #rollingpatterns #foundationalmovements #humanmovement #hiprehab #physicaltherapy #sportsmedicine #movementtherapyinstitute
