For a very long time on my #birthday, I’d tell myself, “this is MY YEAR!” 🎉 To make a change. To know myself. To get healthy. To take pride in my body. To feel confident. To be a better version of myself. And then the next birthday would roll ‘round, and I’d have nothing to show for my intentions 🤷🏼‍♀️ I’d look back on my year and think, how can I measure what I accomplished for myself? The number of failed diets? Of “tomorrow”s or “next week”s or “Monday”s? Of copious amounts of Miller Lite? Of outfit changes? Of untagged photos? - To wake up at 27 at my happiest + strongest + holistically healthiest yet is indescribable ✨ I know myself. I #respect myself. I take #pride in my body + mind + choices. I am the best version of myself on any given day. And I want to be a better version of myself. A better #athlete. A better consumer. A better contributor. Not out of self loathing or insecurity or dissatisfaction, but because I‘m confident in my ability to keep on evolving 💯 - How can I measure what I accomplished this year? I transitioned into #CrossFit. I learned about #nutrition + #macros. I achieved pull-ups. I deadlifted more than 2x my body weight. I got below parallel on squats. I ran my farthest distance. I ran my fastest pace. I expanded my #fitness community IRL. I hit PRs. I failed PRs. I’m finding food freedom. I maintained my lifestyle through some major moments [a move + a puppy + vacations]. I broke up with the scale. I’m listening to my body. And I can’t wait to see what’s to come 👀 Bring it on two-seven! This really IS my year 😉 #HBD Al, ILU, you make me proud, keep doin’ you 👊🏼

Today's modified Greek salad: romaine lettuce, tomatoes, olives, (ask for no cheese vice feta cheese) red onions, pepperoni, roasted red bell pepper with olive oil, add chicken ×2, add bacon, add avocado ×2. Vegan? Just cut all the meat and add more avocado. I'm cutting sugar in order to get ripped in two weeks. A gallon of water a day helps you feel satiated. It also takes energy to absorb so you literally lose fat by drinking water. I like a lot of meat, but it's not for everyone. I know plenty of super successful vegans as well. You would have to add more legumes, beans and whole grains to replace the protein. You're body will tell you what kind of food reacts well with you. Questions? Today my dietitian told me ive finally hit my set point. Because I havent stopped weighing myself, I know what it is. This is a good thing for recovery. Terrible for ed. Ed starting freaking out, “your not sick anymore, you dont deserve treatment anymore” , “you were never sick before” , “you’ll never be skinny again.” Luckily, im far enough in recovery im able to recognize those thoughts are not my own, but ed’s. That doesn’t mean im not struggling, because I am. I am still not ‘recovered’, im still having panic attacks during challenging meals/snacks and still engaging in behaviors. A number doesnt determine your level of sickness, nevertheless your worth. I sound positive in this message, but shortly after finding this out I had two panic attacks and had to be talked down multiple times. This is just a reminder your illness or worth is not defined by a number or a look. Stay safe loves💜
