However, as I’ve gotten older a lot has changed. I’ve grown to love and crave working out in the morning. I have also found that my exercise motivation and my energy is highest before 8:30 AM. Overtime, I have found that what I once found impossible (wake and work out), I now crave. Truthfully, I can’t imagine starting my day any other way. ✨ . Here’s a closer look at a few of the benefits that have been found with exercising early in the morning.🌅 . ➡️➡️Morning exercise improves your mental and physical energy. As we head into these colder days, that are shorter and have less sunlight, it can be tough to stay motivated to keep working out each day. ⁣ You might even be someone who is affected by season affective disorder. ⁣ ⁣ But how do we push through these tough months, or these feelings of fatigue and depression? ⁣ ⁣ I’m by no means a therapist or a doctor, but with a family history and personal experience, I know that ever since I have been on a consistent fitness journey, those feelings and thoughts have never been lower.⁣ ⁣ Even with limited sunlight and shorter days, exercise has been the most effective medicine to make me feel better, exercise is a great way to release endorphins, improve sleep, and increase energy- on top of so many other benefits. ⁣ ⁣ I encourage you, if the winter usually takes a toll on you mentally, to give exercise a shot, just starting with 1 day to start - if that felt great, give it another day and so and so forth!

As I sat in front of the large glassed mirrors at the gym, taking my rest bites between sets I couldn’t help but notice how much my body has changed since starting weight training back in January. Consistently training 5/6 times per week and changing my eating habits has changes how my body looks, how it feels and how I feel on the inside too. To think that I didn’t even look this strong and healthy pre kids actually baffles me! So what changed? My priorities.... There is no greater sense of achievement, satisfaction and fulfilment than working on yourself. Everything else just seems to fall into place when you put yourself at the forefront of the priority list. Feeling and looking strong, confident and content in your body and mind naturally radiates positivity and has such an affect on the people and things around you. Work on you, for you. If it doesn’t challenge you, it won’t change you. It’s normal to STRUGGLE, as long as you keep going. The picture on the left was taken before I started my workout, and the picture on the right is a still shot taken during my workout. I have struggled through EVERY SINGLE WORKOUT in this program. But that has not stopped me from pressing play the next day. I might have to press pause in between moves to catch my breath and get my head in the game, but I always finish the work. So tell yourself you got this, and keep going!✌️

The whole purpose of a health and fitness journey is to get you to feeling and looking like your best self, sustainably. ⁣ ⁣ What that entails is:⁣ ♥️ fuelling your body with the nutrition it needs from whole foods with high nutritional value and volume 🥗🥙🍏⁣ ♥️ being able to eat foods you enjoy in moderation (and not restricting yourself to only certain foods) 🍫🧁🍦⁣ ♥️ It fits your lifestyle. 🤗⁣ ⁣ What it doesn’t entail:⁣ ❌ Eating whatever fits your macros and calories 🍟🍟🍟⁣ ❌ Eating so much processed food that you actually don’t have room in your nutrition plan to eat nourishing foods 🥗⁣ ❌ Eating a lower volume of foods daily because you can only eat what fits. 🤷🏾‍♀️⁣ ⁣ Macros get a bad rap sometimes because people fit anything without thinking of how they are fuelling their body first. ⁣ ⁣ I always tell my clients to prioritise whole foods (nourishes their bodies), and then leaving room for their soul foods (foods they eat for enjoyment). Over a span of a day or a week, I encourage most of their foods (80%) to come from nutritious unprocessed sources. The minority (20%) is to come from their soul food (chocolate, ice cream, sushi, pizza). I find that this is the healthiest and most sustainable way to continue with your journey and get them to their goals.⁣ ⁣ How do you plan your meals when you count macros? That included this post about protein pancakes😋. . . . 🥞 As we head into the Thanksgiving Holiday, I thought it would great to share this recipe with all of you. . . . 🥣Here are the deets:. Combine the following in the blender: . . . •1 cup eggwhites (approx 6) •1 cup sliced strawberries.. •1 scoop @drinkorgain Vanilla Bean Protein Powder •1/2 cup Rolled Oats •1 tbsp Creamy Unsalted Peanut Butter. . . . 👩🏻‍🍳Blend until smooth. Pour batter over skillet coated with @nutiva coconut oil. Cook both sides on medium heat until golden brown. I topped mine with sliced almonds and maple syrup.

Have you found your passion that completely changed your life? ✨⁣ ⁣ I’ve been told that my passion for health and fitness truly shows 💜⁣ ⁣ When I hear this, it makes me so happy because I truly love what I do! 😊⁣ ⁣ Truth be told…I hated exercise when I was growing up. When I gained 50 lbs, I thought of ways to lose weight without giving it much effort.⁣ ⁣ But I came to the realization that I can’t lose weight if I don’t put in the work. I eventually got to the point where I would have done anything to lose it.⁣ ⁣ And that’s exactly what I did. My ‘why’ was so strong that it got me through those tough days (which by the way, if you haven’t developed your ‘why’, it’s so crucial to do)! ⁣ ⁣ 👉 After turning my life around when I decided to stop making excuses, I found my passion ⁣ ⁣ If it wasn’t for the trials I went through on this journey, I wouldn’t be coaching wonderful women on losing weight!!⁣ ⁣ Comment below what your passion is? 👇

I knew that life wasn’t supposed to be the way it was two years ago. I knew that this is not how I wanted to go into the next phase of my life. ⠀ ⠀ Here we are 41 days until a new year and a new decade. AND my last year in my thirties. I didn’t want to go into 2020 and into my 40’s how I was feeling two years ago at the ripe age of 37. I was not at my best as a mom, or a wife. I was not in the best of health or in the best shape. Clothes were fitting tight and even my wedding ring was beginning to be hard to take off and put on. I knew that something needed to change. I needed to change. ⠀ ⠀ So, I put my foot down and made the investment in myself. I wanted to be around for another decade. Another year so I can do things with my kids for enjoyment. Enjoy my marriage without feeling cruddy. ⠀ ⠀ Friends, two years and still running my journey. This is no magic pill, no special formula. Just straight up discipline, commitment, and faith in myself that I can and will continue on my journey. ⠀ ⠀ If you have been feeling like I was two years ago and you are finally ready to make that change, then what are you waiting for? 💁🏽‍♀️ There is no better time than right now {yes, even during the holiday season} to begin.⠀ So, let me ask you, are you ready?

This week's #ThankfulThursday is for Nell T. ⁠ .⁠ I met Nell last year through another amazing client (thank you Liz for having wonderful friends and sharing them with me). She came with the goal of starting a weight training program to injury-proof her body, but wasn't necessarily planning to be a long-term client. Since then, she's become a weekly regular to my small groups. She's gained so much strength and fitness and I'm soo proud of her. Not only does she workout with me, but she also regularly works out hard on her own and has been able to start running again without injury (one of her other goals). ⁠ .⁠ Nell, you are a pleasure to work with every week and I'm so impressed with your progress.
