Not beating myself up during the process, as it'll do no good for me at all. I've learned over the years that sometimes you need to make the not so good choices, eat the cake, drink the booze. Smooth bipedal gait is an incredible demonstration of coordination, balance, locomotion. ⬇️ Next time you are out for a walk, pay attention to the TOE to GLUTE connection (or lack thereof). This is more specifically the big toe, as is plays the biggest part in the propulsion effect at toe-off while walking. ⬇️ As we are at terminal stance and toeing-off while walking, the foot becomes a rigid lever to help create propulsion. This tenses up the plantar fascia and coincides with the calf/Achilles complex working to produce propulsion at the ankle: the entire PF-Achilles-calf complex activates at once during propulsion. ⬇️ At the same time as this toe-off is happening, the hip upstream is at its most extended position. This coincides with the glute naturally participating in propulsion at what feels like the exact same time. This is called TRIPLE EXTENSION (the knee is also reaching terminal extension at the same time). ⬇️ This big toe to glute ‘connection’ is the manifestation of triple extension. This is an example of a kinetic chain working well, with many joints simultaneously participating in a movement pattern. 👣 The best way to start experiencing this is to pay attention to how you walk. Be mindful of how you are pushing off. Notice if your hip is participating in your walking stride, and if you can feel the big toe to glute connection. ✅ Groove your gait pattern. Once you hone in on your pattern, see if you can build a more robust and smooth ‘connection’. My leg workout was powered by Reese’s Peanut butter cup eggs from Easter 😂 but I crushed this workout this morning and it felt great 🤩 dets of my whole workout below, I did 25min on the stair climber before 😉 . . 👌front squats > classic but works my quads and core 👌single leg hip thrust > be sure to not over thrust here people lol it’s bad for your lower back 👌 HIIT circuit > 3 frog jumps into 3 jump squats into side lunges w a shuffle to the other side lol talk about a description 😂 👌goodmornings > elevated with plate here so burns the hammies 👌 side lunges static > I feel these more on my outer quads 👌 vertical leg press > I go as low as I can with as much control as I can 👌 elevated RDLs > I like how much more deep I can go into the movement 👌 single leg leg lifts > I tried doing these today with my leg in front of the cable with the other leg behind connected to the cable and the difference was amazing instead of just doing pure side movement 👌 leg extensions 👌 abs at the end, extended arm planks a lot more challenging than they seem so I encourage you to try them!
