Even though we cut back steady state cardio, I dropped a tad more weight than I should have this week so 300g carb refeed day it is! - So far my snacks have been: • rice cakes • white potato • cereal • protein pancake • crunchy chickpeas • German choc cake protein balls ( post soon to come) • Pint of @halotopcreamery (dinner treat) - I literally have veins coming up my stomach from all the treats. It’s insane. - When one does a re-feed like this it’s important to do a full body, high rep workout to help with glycogen storage (video soon to come) - It’s been a tasty day that’s for sure! Anyone else guilty of eating healthy-ish for a week and wondering why the scale hasn’t changed yet 🙋🏻‍♀️?! . When I started really making big changes after my second baby was born, I would go 5-6 weeks without seeing the scale budge at ALL. It was super frustrating when I was exercising daily and eating super clean, but I promised myself that I was going to trust the process. So I kept going, and slowly but surely the weight starting to come off and my body begin to change in a way I’ve never seen it change before. I finally was able to see my abs for the first time in my life but it took consistent work for a YEAR! . I’ve said this so many times before, but there is no quick fix when it comes to fitness and weight loss...and if you think there is, it probably isn’t the kind that will last. I always tell my clients if they want to lose weight and keep the weight off, they need to do so slow and steady (1-2 pounds per week is ideal). . As you go into this new week, have the mindset that even though this is a slow process, you can and you will do it. Once you make that decision and just start to plug away and move the needle forward a little each day, there’s no looking back 🙌🏻. . Okay let's be honest here, I don't take typical gym selfies. I mean I am not one to take pics of myself flexing or showing my body, not my scene, and every time I did, I would take it down. Yes I have progressed and I am proud of my results, but I am not one to walk into the gym with tight clothes and tend to wear long sleeves. It's not that I am not comfortable in my skin or feel insecure about anything, I just like to wear what's comfortable and I don't like how short sleeves or gym tanks fit me, I feel rather awkward. I wear what makes me feel confident, but at the same time comfy as well. People ask me if I get hot wearing long sleeves or jackets and the answer to that is no; I tend to get cold easily and would rather stay warm. Just because I don't take pics of myself posing in the gym or working out doesn't mean that I don't work hard, as a matter of fact I do. Side Bridge Progression| Building muscular strength and endurance in the trunk will not only help you move better, but can also reduce lower back pain. - So often I see people doing crunches or sit ups on the floor, stability ball to “strengthen” their core...this actually places a great deal of compressive force on the spine which can potentially lead to lower back injuries such as slipped or herniated discs. - Being someone who has suffered from what was suppose to be a career ending back injury I’ve learned the importance of developing a strong core and the side bridge/plank is an excellent exercise for low back stability 👍🏽 - 1️⃣ Placing hand on shoulder will help remind you to keep it engaged, remembering to push down into the floor with elbow 2️⃣, 3️⃣, 4️⃣ incorporate limb movement and additional balance challenges help to progress the load and stimulate further adaption - I hope this has been helpful! Well, after a week of fighting like hell through some serious DOMS (rip to me after taking a week off while traveling/supporting @aloragriffiths at the @kernusopen ) I hit some nice smooth singles with both sumo and conventional. 2x1 235lbs sumo 2x1 215lbs conventional This is pretty huge because I’ve never been able to consistently hit numbers like this ESPECIALLY after taking time off (almost 2 weeks off DLs).

You want toned legs and a big butt? Weights. You want a sick core and toned arms? Weights. You want to lose body fat? Weights. Get lean? Weights. Gain weight? Weights. Build muscle? Weights. Weights. Weights. Weights. YES you need cardio too. But if you’re lifting weights correctly..as in supersetting, one set with another. Minimal rest. High intensity.THERES YOUR CARDIO. You can get on the treadmill for an hour and burn what, 400 calories? Then that’s it. You stop. When you lift weights you burn that 400...and then continue to burn over the next 3-5 hours. Weights make you strong. Burn fat. And help you to keep those feminine curves. Cardio burns fat... AND MUSCLE So to the ladies scared to lift because they don’t want to look manly. Hear me out: LIFT THE FREAKING WEIGHTS AND STOP WALKING ON AN INCLINED TREADMILL FOR AN HOUR WHILE HOLDING ON TO THE HANDRAILS TO MAKE IT EASY Harsh? Yes.
