I remember one of my first job interviews asked how I was creative. 😬 And my immediate reaction was panic. “I am logical, not creative.” I’m sure I made up some answer and I ended up getting the job but that question stuck out to me as a challenge. 🤷🏻‍♀️ How the heck am I creative? Well... the difference between 21 year-old KP and almost 28 year-old KP is astonishing. 😱 Two things make me feel super creative: PhD work and food. 🧠🍳 Am I still logical? Heck yes. #science But I take pride in my potential to solve complex problems and generate new knowledge... and create some pretty amazing meals like this one. Caption this. I say, this must be look I give when I’m just minding my own business and someone at a commercial gym offers me lifting advice and tells me to be careful 😅 But on a serious note, I’ve always been somewhat timid when strangers ask me what I do, (wrestler? Bodybuilder? Etc) and I’ll just reply “I like to lift.” Recently, I changed my response to- “I’m a Pro Strongwoman” to my surprise most people actually know what this is. 🙌🏻That’s a huge step from where it was just a few years ago! . Thanks to @jakeph67 for always introduce me as “Pro Strongwoman Brittany Diamond”, I used to be slightly embarrassed (not sure why, just didn’t want to talk about it with random ppl) but thanks to him I’m pretty damn proud. . This custom 110lb pink/sparkly @beastmetals DB was the first piece of equipment that was mine. My overhead strength was always a weakness, so I have this and a pink log. I did a killer upper body workout today and I actually did a warmup run! It definitely showed me how strong I’ve gotten 💪🏾 my bench press has gotten easier and I went up almost 20lbs on my lat pull downs. I was feeling myself so much today I couldn’t pick just one picture. Look at me trying to show off my nonexistent triceps 😂

Yesterday was the first day back to the gym after I had my split tooth extracted on Wednesday. I was told no heavy lifting for at least 4 days so I gave them just that, four 😂 Gained a couples pounds due to not wanting to eat much, but wanting to keep calories high every time I did eat (aka crap food). I’m proud of this body I’ve built! . This has been 2 years of ups & downs, including... 👉🏽bodybuilding style workouts 👉🏽powerlifting workouts, 👉🏽weeks off of the gym, 👉🏽tracking macros, 👉🏽eating like crap, 👉🏽caloric surplus to gain muscle, 👉🏽caloric deficit to lose fat, 👉🏽days where I felt awesome about my body, 👉🏽days where I felt ashamed and hid my body, ............ The point is, I was CONSISTENT. Yeah, I’ve had times where I wasn’t 100% focused on my health.. but I GOT BACK. I didn’t give up. I didn’t say, “oh well, I tried.. I guess that’s done.”. I instead knew that my slacking off wasn’t best for me & that the best thing for my future was to get back to work. . Never quit and never settle. Five miles & lots of sweat later, I survived a midday run! 94 degrees is NO joke. It was a physical & mental struggle. I have so much work to do. I can’t believe that a little over a year ago, five miles were just a warm up. That I actually ran a MARATHON at one point. The beauty of fitness is that you can work your way up to anything & this is just the beginning!

I go out to eat maybeeeee 2-3 times a year #homebody #single #hermit #ilovemydog 😂) I’ve never even been to a Chipotle 😱. I definitely think it’s a healthier option but I’m able to save so much money by making and preparing all my own meals. Looked myself in the mirror and told myself one day it’d happen for me. 🙏🏼 - I wanted to feel healthier so bad. I had so much physical pain. I remember one night showering and I couldn’t even bend down or move really without it physically hurting. I remember just crying $& crying until I had a throbbing headache. My hair felt oily all the time. My skin was a mess. I would work, come home and just lay there because everything hurt. I never wanted to go outside, I was so ashamed of what I had done. The crazy thing is..I did that to myself. There’s nothing wrong with being a certain weight. Any size is beautiful. What mattered the most to be was my health. That’s why I decided to change. I never in a million years thought I would achieve the body or life that I have now. That wasn’t my reason for starting. The real reason I started my fitness journey was because the doctor told me I either change my life or I lose it. That scared the crap out of me. After the doctor visit, I did some more crying. I was broken down to the very core. Even writing this out and thinking about it makes me sad. It’s crazy to me that I’m the same person. It’s been almost 3 years since that day. I’ve learned a lot, I’ve failed a lot & I know I’ll fail again, I’ve been on this journey of re-building my love for myself while falling in love with fitness at the same time. I’ve always known there was someone trying to come out, fighting to become better, but I never knew how. Everything in my life now makes sense. I can’t explain how much this journey has done for me, I can just show you. I can hopefully help you by my posts and what I stand for. I want you to know that’s it’s possible. If someone like me can go from rock bottom to now being the happiest I’ve ever been..I promise you that you are capable of the same thing. It all starts with a decision to try. ❤️ #transformationtuesday
