How do I keep myself motivated? The first and I think most important way to keep doing what you do, is to love what you do. I love this sport and competing, which makes me so excited to work out and stick to my diet. Second, I always set a goal for myself. As I don't want to let myself down, I stick to the goal I have in sight! Third, I see the importance of a healthy lifestyle and a healthy body. @anis_ammar_athlete is the best coach out here, as he showed me how to do a healthy compprep! Thanks for that. Fourth, I love working on bettering my body. When I was young I was insecure. Instead of a "this is my transformation" 😁story I'm going to share some tips to get body back after baby🤰🏻. - ▪️Tip 1: Don't diet- Let's face it you're a new mom which is hard enough, adding in a diet is too stressful. Instead: Aim to make everyday healthy, cut out cheat meals, make every meal as healthy as you can. Then if through out the week you eat little "unhealthy" things it's fine, like bites off mac and cheese from your little ones🧀. - ▪️Tip 2: Workout- Plain and simple yes you'll need to workout. Shoot to get in at least 3 workouts a week once cleared by your doctor😉. Find a time that works for you, half my workouts happen in the evenings then the rest of the week I do them in the afternoon. You will have to adjust to a new schedule but you'll find a rhythm. - ▪️Tip 3: Hydrate💦- This is super important, drink lots, and lots of water. Unsweet Green Tea is also amazing. It'll help keep the body energized and clear of toxins and waste. - ▪️Tip 4: Workout With Baby: On days Lucas is extra clingly I use him as a weight or we will go for a nice long LISS walk, also makes for great bonding time❤️. - ▪️Tip 5: Set Small Goals: As well as reward yourself, tell yourself if you get in 4 workouts this week you can buy a new top👚. Track your water intake everyday with a friend, make it a competition. - ▪️Tip 6: DO NOT STRESS👌🏼! Trust me I had plenty of days where I felt NO change, felt I would never get back to pre baby body(those damn last 10lbs), or that my muscles would never come back. THEY WILL!! 🏋🏻‍♀️Our bodies are amazing, we created little sweet humans, give it time, look at how far you've come, and just keep going. Small steps and changes will lead to big results😙. -

😲I just started my very first dedicated cut in a really long time. I had been planning on using keto to cut but keto didn’t go too well for me and I ended up gaining weight. It wasn’t as a fault of the diet, but rather my inability to overcome the mental game of eating a much lower volume of food and having to be so careful with everything I ate. But I’m not here to talk about why keto and I weren’t best friends. Instead I wanted to talk about what to expect when you embark on a cut. 😈Being on a cut will most likely suck sometimes. Plain and simple. It won’t be a super easy walk in the park. You won’t be comfortable all the time. You will probably occasionally turn into a hungry rage monster. You say, “Marisa, I want to lose weight” so I say, “eat in a caloric deficit” and you say “but Marisa, I’m so hungrrryyyyyyyy” …. well, duh? What do you expect? 🤔Changing your body is HARD WORK. Your body will fight you to stay exactly the way it is because that is what our bodies evolved to do. You should expect to feel hungry if you’re losing weight. You should expect to struggle in the gym if you’re putting on muscle. 👉🏻To make change to your body (and in life) you have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Progress and growth doesn’t come from sitting around and having things handed to you. It comes from pushing and challenging yourself. It comes from living outside your comfort zone and from not always knowing the answers.

Staying motivated means keeping your eye on the prize. You cant do that if your focus is anywhere else. 2.STEER CLEAR FROM TEMPTATIONS.🙅🏼‍♀️ Seems obvious, but probably the most important, and most helpful tip I can give you. If you are trying to eat cleaner, DONT FILL YOUR CUPBOARDS WITH JUNK FOOD. You don't hang out with smokers if you're trying quit. If a certain group of friends makes you want to drink your ass off, limit your time with them. 3.SURROUND YOURSELF WITH LIKE MINDED PEOPLE. 👯‍♀️Find a support system aligned with your goals! People who are going to propel you forward, and catch you when you fall back. People who will always be there for you, when you feel like giving up. 4.STOP THINKING ABOUT IT. 🧠Just do it. stop thinking about it. Just do it. The more you think about it, the more time you give yourself to talk yourself out of it. Or to come up with an excuse. Dont think about it. just do it. Its just as easy to go to the gym, as it is to not. Its a decision. and decisions are as simple as this or that. just do what you gotta do. To be honest, I am NOT always motivated. And thats where the discipline comes in. And those days are when I just need to not think about ANYTHING, and just do it.
