“Small disciplines repeated with consistency every day lead to great achievements.” 💪🏋🏽‍♀️🙏 It took me years of researching and learning to understand how my body works to get where I am today. As I go along my fitness journey, every day is a new day to learn something new. The one thing that has kept me going is being consistent and not giving up on my goals.👊 My goals may change from a month to month basis, but the number one thing has always been to be consistent with my workout plan, and not beat myself up in the gym. I used to spend hours in the gym because I hated how I look. Weight held for a bit and finally dropping post-cycle. Strength and energy still high as I head into week 3. . 5 weeks out. SBD Saturday. BW 160. . Belt squat in place of low bar, trying to heal up bi/tri/elbow tendinitis from first few weeks of ever doing low bar. Skipped the programmed SQ PR single at RPE 7, and just did my back off sets of 7 on belt squat at 210 lbs. It’s hard to pass up a PR, but I’d rather see a healthy PR in five weeks, then a gym PR now, prolonging recovery. . Long paused single on bench at 145 lbs then back off triples at 135 lbs. Finally feeling good with these. Tendinitis only flared up a little. . Paused deads FINALLY feel tight, sets of 5 at 115 kg. (And yes, I know I shoulda used a blue instead of yellow and white. Have you had a lifestyle change? I have posted this picture before, and I am again. This picture is a 40lbs difference in a year. It’s one of the biggest accomplishments I’ve gone through and it’s not just about losing the weight. I changed my whole lifestyle, how I eat, how I workout, I don’t go out to eat very often, I’m happier now. I went through a lot of ups & Downs, I wouldn’t eat more then 500 calories a day because food terrified me, I would workout 2x a day so I could be skinny, I would throw up food if it wasn’t healthy and sometimes even if it was because I was so scared of calories. I’m finally at a point that I CAN EAT WHATEVER I WANT! and I don’t feel bad about it. I still workout but not as often. I eat healthy 60% of the time and I’m happy with where I am. It took me upwards of 3 years to be able to eat yummy food and not workout 2x a day and burn myself out thinking I’m being “healthy” because of it. This week, I worked out twice. One leg day and one cardio session. That’s it. Who am I? 🤷🏼‍♀️ . Did I stick 100% to clean eating? Nope. . Do I feel guilty about any of it? For the first day, I truly did. Now, not a single bit of guilt runs through my body. . I can tell you what I DID do this weeK though.... I took PTO from work. My brother, SIL, and nephew came to visit. I spent 90% of my time laughing, shopping, beaching, sleeping in, making s’mores, swimming, playing, eating, and making memories with the people I love. . I put my physical goals on hold, to put my mental and emotional needs first. I needed it 1,00000%. . This week I found my true harmony in just living in the moment. ✌🏼

We are what we repeatedly do ⏰ ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ People ask me how I stay motivated to workout. Motivation is only part of it. But what keeps me training consistently pretty much all boils down to HABIT 💪🏻⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Neuroscientists estimate that 40% of our daily actions are habits. This means that they are wired into our brains; as if we are on automatic pilot 🧠 We become so used to it, that we don’t really have to think about doing it. Like scrolling on social media as soon as you get home. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ If we understand how habits are formed, we can program our brains be more productive 🌞 ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ How can we create positive habits? Or replace bad habits with goods ones? This is the formula offered by one of the MOST influential books I’ve read, ‘The Power of Habit’ by Charles Duhigg, in relation to working out:⁣⁣ * CUE 👀 Habits are triggered by cues. This could be setting an alarm on your phone, putting your packed gym back by the door or pre-arranging to meet a friend at the gym. ⁣⁣ * HABIT 🏋️‍♀️ Write down the steps of your routine. Repeating this will eventually form a habit. This is called “If-then planning” e.g if I get up at 6am then I go to the gym. ⁣⁣ * Reward 🏅 This makes you stick at it! Your brain should start craving the reward as soon as the cue begins, and during your routine. This could be post-workout endorphins, feeling fit or a yummy breakfast⁣⁣ ⁣⁣
