MY TRICEPS ARE SORE🔥 FROM PULL-UPS💪🏽😱 _ Often people comment to me that they want arms like mine or ask me how did I build the muscle in my arms? Usually they assume that I’m crushing biceps curls & triceps extensions on a daily basis but the reality is that I never do either of those exercises unless I’m attending a group fitness class at a fitness studio & the instructor happens to throw them into the class plan. _ 2 exercises in particular have helped me to build the muscles in my arms: _ 1️⃣Pull-ups & particularly Weighted Pull-ups; & _ 2️⃣Kettlebell Military Presses. _ While I was on vacation, with the exception of a few tree pull-ups, I did not do any pull-ups. That’s 15 days without pull-ups! On Thursday when I got back to strength training, I eased myself back into pull-ups with low rep sets (for me) of 6 reps bodyweight pull-ups. Yesterday I had planned to do weighted pull-ups in my training but my triceps were crazy sore from the pull-ups I did on Thursday! I remember having the same soreness when I got back from vacation last year after I got back to doing pull-ups. _ SO, instead of weighted or even bodyweight pull-ups, I opted for band assisted pull-ups. This helped me to train pull-ups safely & without increasing soreness. During the first few sets of band assisted pull-ups I still felt a little sore as I got going, but by the third set my body was warmed up & the soreness subsided. _ Even though I regularly train weighted pull-ups & sets of bodyweight pull-ups from anywhere of 6-12 reps, band assisted pull-ups are NOT too basic for me.
