⁣⁣ My last few days of 2018 look like this ::⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ✨ a little time looking back⁣⁣ ✨ a little time looking ahead⁣⁣ ✨ all the rest here now⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ⌛️ I am acknowledging the gifts & blessings that were sprinkled on me in 2018. I am reflecting on what went well & what I accomplished. I’m also getting honest about what I didn’t do so well & clearing out the closets of regret & hiding places of shame.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 💭 I am dreaming & scheming & setting priorities. I am getting clear about what I want to accomplish & how I will get there. I am allowing myself to hope & visualizing what my best life looks like.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ❤️ Because I am dedicating time for back & forward, I am able to be here, here, actually HERE now. My biggest priority is loving big & that can only happen with eyes & ears & heart open to the present.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ 🎉 Happy end of the year, my friends! Thank you for opening your worlds to mine ❤️ My life is better because of you!⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ xoMe⁣⁣

#halfpikepress in #pincha for #pressingdreams - - We are out of town this week so my IG practice is limited - still practicing ashtanga each day, just not always time for other practice. But this is a clip from a previous #forearmstand practice with a half pike #pinchapress - it’s a little sloppy but it’s what I’ve got for today. - - I tend to do this little hop before I press into #pinchamayurasana - I don’t do the same with my handstand presses and I think it’s because I can push through my feet to help engage my hip flexors in handstand, but in forearmstand I don’t have the same amount of leverage so the smaller hops help me engage before I lift. Break the silence... This one is for the mamas who keep it secret that they still breastfeed there nearly two year old out of fear of judgement. This one is for the mamas struggling to breastfeed and who are feeding anyways through the pain, and tears with a newborn baby. This one is for the women who breastfeed for one day or one year. We are on this journey with our children and no one has the right to take away the choices that you have made or make you feel less than. We are a month away from Rumi turning 2 and things are changing but I feel it may be a slow process. I don’t have any real plans in place for weaning so I’m open to any advice. Other than maybe a weekend away 🤔 Regardless this is us, our practice and our breastfeeding journey. Happy Friday! • My first time lotus in Hollowback pincha!!! 🎉🎉🎉 Finally, my frozen hips have started to melt down. To be honest, I didn't think I would be able to get into lotus "comfortably" forever. But never say never, I feel the massive improvement now. I could "do" lotus somehow. But I always had terrible pain in my ankle. Jumping back into the work week strong and focused ✨shout out to our inspiration and #dirtysouthyogaoftheweek @letisan#Repost @letisan ・・・ To conquer frustration, one must remain intensely focused on the outcome, not the obstacles - T.F Hodge I think is safe to say we all go through it more than once a day for different reasons. How we react to it is key to either float or sink... with anger comes more frustration with patience comes ease... Today frustration got me, I got mad and left something half way through. As a result I‘m unbalanced and mad and I didn’t accomplish my goal, I put so much effort to make it happen but then ‘held my breath’ instead and left in anger. Lesson learned: stay focused, never hold your breath, let it come and go. #bringitom Photo: @kellytmarie

Yes, both are very similar but the feeling & the effect is totally different! ⠀ Alignment // Hollowback: Hips & chest move towards opposite direction. The more you move your chest forward, the more you need to shift your hips back to counterbalance. ⠀ Scorpion: Hips & chest move towards same direction. You want to create the circle shape. So your hips move toward your head and your chest move forward your foot. ⠀ Effect // Hollowback: Huge opening for your shoulder & upper back. Many people think you need to have open shoulder to do this pose, but this pose helped me to open my shoulder a lot. ⠀ Scorpion: Open up the entire spine. You'll also learn how much you need to relax in this pose to coil your chest forward. Ego can't help you to go deeper. ⠀ What you need in both // Both pose require the strong foundation. This week’s teaching will be all about the hips. Hippy inversions, hippy balances and deep, long holds of seated hip openers. Some say that hips don’t lie. Others (yoga teachers, mostly) say that emotions and trauma can be stored in your hips. I have dissected human hip joints and found no obvious emotions lying around. However, working towards increased range of motion, flexibility and ease of tension around the hips has lots of other benefits, of course. Preventing back pain, for example. Or the possibility of spending your days in an upside down lotus. See you in class! 🖤
