Yeah... July 2016 - July 2018 The last time I weighed myself (several months ago) I was 10+ kgs heavier than the photo on the left. . I remember 2016. I remember I started posting fitness photos at this time and lots of you shared the most amazing comments saying how fit, healthy and happy I looked. I was NOT healthy, or happy. Far from it. I had just come out of a toxic relationship, I had to take a break from university, I couldn’t sleep, would wake up before the sun, train for 2 hours every morning, was scared of nearly every food, malnutrished, my hair was falling out, couldn’t find clothes that fit, tired all the time, needed to nap everyday and didn’t go a day without a mental breakdown. And still, I was self conscious about the way I looked. Still, I didn’t think I was good enough. . 2 years later, 10+ kilos heavier, and I am the HAPPIEST I have ever been. I feel so much more confident in my body than I did when I was tiny, my happiness is real, my smile is contagious and I actually enjoy the foods I eat and the balance in which I train. I can’t say I’m happy 100% of the time. No one is. Tbh I’m still scared to weigh myself, so I don’t. I try to go by the way I feel. And I’m still getting use to not being able to fit into my old clothes. Some days are a mental battle, but those days are rare now. I wouldn’t say I’ve gone through a transformation, but I’ve grown and learnt. . Food is medicine, food is fuel, and food is YUM. Be kind to your body, listen to it and take care of it. It’s the only body you have. There’s more to these “Instagram photos” than meets the eye. Never compare. Only seek to find your best, healthiest self by the way you mentally feel. You’ll never be happy with yourself until you master that.

as promised, here are some must-do glute activation exercises!! skipping them before a lift is easy to do, but taking 10 minutes to do these is totally worth it. most of our power comes from the muscles running along the backside of our bodies - if these muscles aren’t firing correctly it can lead to injury, tightness, or lack of overall muscle growth. if you have inactive or “sleepy” glutes to begin with, it will be difficult to see any results if you don’t incorporate exercises like these. so with that being said, try these out before your next leg day and get that 🍑!!! . . . 10 reps of each (per side if applicable) OR choose 5 for 3 rounds of 10 reps squats lateral squat walks monster walks backwards leg lift side leg lift glute bridge + knees out single leg bridge + knee drive clamshell not in video: fire hydrants donkey kicks

⚠️Super Vulnerable Post⚠️ This is my first #transformationtuesday post. Week 1 BBG to Week 4 BBG! ✨This is not easy for me to do....at all! Before I had my 3 kids, I wore bikinis and had a really cute body. I never really had “abs” but my stomach was relatively flat. After my kids, my body changed in all sorts of ways that made me self conscious. I have avoided shorts and tanks when I can. I don’t go swimming anymore and I don’t dress up often. I’m making changes! Slowly getting some confidence back! My thighs are a bit more toned, I have a little curve to my sides and my shoulders are looking better. Also, the weight difference between these 2 pictures, NOTHING! #screwthescale Thank you, @kayla_itsines for your @sweat program! Sometimes I look at myself and still see the guy on the left. Even with the side by side, before and after photos, it’s hard to see the Chris who was almost 500lbs. I've lost over 200lbs and still have a long way to go. Consistency and discipline has been my key to success! ✨MY FIVE YEAR TRANSFORMATION✨ • • • On the left, you see 20 year old me. The me who was a chronic marijuana smoker and had an addiction to it but didn’t know it yet. You see the me who over-drank every Thursday-Saturday. Over drank to the point of blackouts & not knowing what I did the night before or how I got home. The me who was always told to “eat a burger or something” The me who only ever did cardio because I didn’t want to pay for a gym membership. • On the right, you see me today. 25 and thriving. The me who takes care of my body The me who only drinks alcohol occasionally & is 100% drug free. You see the me who truly loves myself and treats myself with respect. Now I lift weights 4-6 days a week. I still love my cardio but now I only do it when I feel like it. • • • 5 years ago, I didn’t think that I was super skinny. I thought I was just super fit and I’m really good shape.. but now that I’m looking back, I’m thinking to myself “Holy 🤯 I really was incredibly skinny”. What leads to Failure? By @peter_bowman - Something as simple as telling yourself you can’t have something, or do something is a sure way to fail. - When it comes to dieting telling yourself you can’t have a certain food, will only make you want it more. Could lead to you breaking and bingeing. - Instead change your words around and say “I choose not to eat that.” - Simple changes like this can make a huge difference when it comes to dieting, and just life in general. - I have noticed this first hand when it came to cravings in the past. I would make them worse by saying “I can’t” and would eventually cave. Then beating yourself up about it would only make it worse. - Now 90% of the time I choose the healthier option, over the less healthy option because it serves me better. Better performance, better feel, less sluggish the next day. - Change your vocabulary to avoid failure. So much of fitness is psychological, don’t limit yourself.

Stepped WAY out of my comfort zone today and explored an adventure park up in the trees 🌳. I love zip lining, but doing obstacle courses up in the trees DEFINITELY took some courage. Glad I had great friends to help cheer me on 😝.
