TBT- 1/3 of some of the fitness magazine covers I’ve been on all over the world. All the outsider sees is the end result but they don’t see or understand what it takes to get to that result. Such As: Always having to Being in Tip-Top shape for the opportunity; competing against hundreds of some of the fittest and best looking fitness professionals in the world; • Having to continuously and email and follow-up with editors every month if the image you shot was considered for the cover; having to schmooze editors because they have to like you to want to put you on the magazine covers. • Having to deal with the politics of hie decisions are made ; Having to deal with editors that make decisions based on which ethnicity mirrored the majority demo of that respective country. • If you are minority and if a magazine does 1 minority of out of 12 issues per year which typically at the most happens if you are lucky. That is about an 8% chance that you have of getting on that fitness magazine cover. And that is the best not the minimum. • The bottom line it is not easy getting on a fitness magazine cover. I can’t believe it’s been TWO YEARS since I’ve graduated. I have a BA in dance, I have done nothing with that degree but at least I have a degree 🤷🏼‍♀️ now after finding my love for fitness and wanting to share that and help people recover from injury I am going back to school for physical therapy. I was stuck in a rut for a whole year not knowing what I was going to do and it finally clicked. I started with just wanting to get certified to be a personal trainer and then looked deeper into what else I could. It’s ok if you feel lost for what you want to do with your life. Not everyone has it all figured out! So just take a deep breath and it will come to you! 🌟HEAVY SQUAT DAY🌟 - 110kg x 1 120kg x 1 125kg x 1 - While bulking I never bothered to test my 1RM as my program had a 5% deviation. - Recently I have been pushing my limits, even though I’m 6 weeks deep into a cut, and it’s actually been working! Pulling PRs out of nowhere each week in my squat and deadlift - clear sign of a successful bulk! 💪🏻

🔅5 WEEK CUT🔅 - The photo on the left is me 6 weeks ago when I just finished my bulk on 3500 calories. - The photo on the right was taken 5 weeks deep into the cut eating around 2400 calories. - I have slowly dropped my calories a couple hundred every 4 days until I was happy with the fat loss results. This is called a TRANSITION PHASE. - The reason for this is to slowly ease my body from a surplus into a deficit so it doesn’t get a shock. - This helps a lot with defeating ghrelin which your hunger hormone.

Hit an all time PR today 150kg x 10. - Nearly 6 weeks deep into my cut and still pulling PRs on my squat and deadlift! - The key to maintaining your strength in a deficit is to lower your calories slowly over a certain period of time as a pose to slicing them in half the second you start cutting. - Over the past few weeks I have been making small adjusts to my diet slowly lowering my calories from 3300 down to 2400. As I get leaner I will continue to drop calories.

Heavy back day 🦍 On a heavy back day I typically deadlift to start and then focus on weighted pull-ups. - Getting strong on your pull-ups is key to building an amazing back 🔑 - Once you can hit 10 clean pull-ups in a single set you are now ready to start adding weight. Add 5kg for example and do as many as you can. Keep using this weight until you are able to do 8-10 reps and then repeat the process.

I feel this helps me focus on increasing strength in both key lifts. - I also OHP on both of these days as my main shoulder compound movement. I find this is the best exercise, by far, to increase the strength and size of my shoulders.
