•••It’s been a while! Hope everyone has been getting it done this year. •••I just wanted to give a little reminder that you are strongest on the isometric and eccentric stages of your lift, so use that to your advantage. Slow the tempo down. When you feel yourself fatiguing towards the end of the set, hold the top of the movement a little longer and slow down the negative a little longer. Sometimes, go SUPER slow and just see what happens! (You die, that’s what happens. Especially if it’s legs.) •••You will a) get a better pump, b) decrease the chance of immediate injury, and c) decrease the chance of future complications because you will use lighter weight and therefore decrease stress on your joints. •••Also remember, you always want your core nice and engaged but only want the targeted muscles lifting that load. Gluteeee dayyyy 🙌🏻🍑 I honestly didn't even want to go today but I'm so glad I did. I don't believe in being motivated every day. I believe in dedication and discipline. If I skip out on the gym, my mentality changes and then I get lazy and start slacking. It's important to rest and take breaks but if you take too many you won't see any changes and then you'll be disappointed. That was me. I'd take breaks. I'd only make it to the gym about once or twice a week to feel strong because I'd go crazy completely without it. Then I start hitting the gym consistently and I get mad at myself because I'm not where I should be. I've made a lot of improvements since I've first started lifting, but its nowhere near where I should be. So at the moment I'm going to keep working to get there. I'm not going to quit. I didn't come this far to only come this far. And the bright side of coming to the gym today, I got a pretty sick glute pump 😏
