So I did a thing. I signed up for @gateriverrun and I’m pretty excited and nervous about it. I’ve been quietly working on running more than most know and I have a 5k next Saturday along with a few more I plan on before this big 15k. Now am I going to be able to run the entire thing maybe not but I’m gonna do my best to finish as much as I can running and finish it strong. This is a big deal for me I’ve never been a runner although I have the legs for it and was always asked to try it. I’ve never had to want to or confidence to go for it. But since training with @truefitphysiques Its been proven to me time and again I can do way more than I ever thought I could be makes me prove it over and over. Sure this will be a challenge for me but I’m ready for it and ready to hit new goals and crush everything. It has not been easy, it has taken some serious willpower to workout after nights with bad sleep / or no sleep 😴 The past year I’ve gotten ONE whole night of 💤 So it’s been hard work!💪🏽 #strongbodystrongmind For a long time, only running with my son was possible - but he loved it, and he still does - when he started in daycare, I startet building strength and the past two months #ocr has been a part of my weekly workout too🐒 . High Intensity Exercise. Does that terminology intimidate you? It shouldn't. Whether you are just beginning, wanting to switch up your routine, or are a seasoned fitness veteran, "high intensity" is different for everyone so there is no need to fear it. What's considered "high intensity" may be different for you than it is for me or for the person down the street. Not only is it different by person, but the same person can take a seemingly low intensity workout and change it up to make it high intensity. There are lots of changes you can make to give yourself that high intensity workout you're looking for at the intensity that is right for YOU. Taking a "simple" move and adding heavier weights is a means of increasing intensity. Taking that same move, lowering the weights, and doing it for a longer period of time is another way of increasing the intensity. Taking a slow move and increasing your speed is another way. So you see... you can't let a term intimidate you or scare you away from achieving your goals because that "term" can be whatever you make it out to be. Want to increase the intensity of your workouts but don't know how? Hit me up and let's brainstorm together. I'm far from a pro but I bet I might have some simple ideas to help! My shoulder has been bothering me lately so I haven't done a whole lot of upper body in the last few weeks. Feels good to work some upper as well as a solid lower body workout today. Today's exercises included Isolated leg deadlifts (3 sets of 15 on each leg) on the platform to allow for a deeper stretch, inner grip pulldowns (4 sets of 15) with 2 different handles, flutter kicks and reverse crunches (100) demonstrated by @haleyjeffcoat_ , captains chair (80), frog jumps with band from one end of the building to another, cardio, platform jumps on 5 and who knows what else... Tomorrow I’ll be #26weekspregnant 🤰 I’m so happy that I can still do a handspring on both sides and a handstand 🤸‍♀️ I definitely feel heavier now and my pole trainings are tiring me quickly; but at least I’m trying to train as often as I can. 💪 Oliver also hasn’t been napping or soothing himself to sleep this week (he has 4 teeth coming in at once - molars and K9). 😢 it’s been a rough couple of days in this house, and are hoping these teeth come through soon! I’m grateful Glen was able to watch Oliver today while I trained and had some ‘me’ time.
