The reality of it is, this journey isn’t “cute” or “pretty” you’re gonna get dirty, you’re going to be sweaty and gross. There will be days where you would rather cut your foot off than workout.. (not literally... I hope lol) but what is important is that THROUGH the dirty and the nitty gritty you show up for yourself. You put the work in and you OWN that shit like you were born to be a badass. (Because you were!!) . Show up for yourself. Happy Monday! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Tip for getting over Monday’s: MINDSET IS KEY 🔑 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Start off the week in the right mindset and the rest of the week will become a lot easier. Sometimes you may get overwhelmed and think you don’t have a lot of say or choice in your life. But you always have the choice of how you approach your day. Changing your attitude could make a huge difference and determine how you spend the rest of your week. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I also like to make a list of mini goals I want to hit for the week or work towards. This week I’m trying to improve the condition of my skin. This winter has been very unkind to me and the consistently changing weather is a disaster for my skin. I haven’t had this much acne in a few years. Trying to incorporate more greens in my diet to strengthen up my gut. But Dark Chocolate is actually higher Calorie than Milk chocolate. 😵Now I’m not saying calories are the only marker of ‘healthy’ because they aren’t!! BUT in terms of fat loss or maintence most people assume Dark Choccie is lower cal and it’s not!⠀ ⠀ It’s true dark Chocolate has less sugar, more fibre and iron than Milk Chocolate making it more nutritious. ✔️ ⠀ ⠀ My problem with this is: ⠀ I don’t go to Chocolate for its health benefits and to pack in my vitamins and minerals, I get enough of that in all my healthy meals every day! 🌿🥑 I go to chocolate because it’s delicious 🤤 and I want it, and I fit it into my diet regardless of if I’m dieting or just eating at maintenance. ⠀ ⠀ For those who just LOVE dark Choccie- go for it! But If you’re eating it just because you’ve been told it’s better for you, then reach for the Milk Choccie, or whatever Choccie you want (unpopular opinion: Turkish delight 😍don’t @ me) - because if you’re trying to lose weight, from a purely calorie perspective- you’re better off eating Milk! ⠀ ⠀ *100g Lindt 70 v 100g Lindt Milk

Working at the fitness industry I realised that no matter how your body shape is; more round, tone, smaller or bigger muscles… - we are never fully happy on our own bodies. . Social media has a big influence on us. We see these fitness influencers with their amazing bodies and instantly we may wish to look like them. It’s important to me, to make some points around this subject. It isn’t the first time I meet a client before starting a training program, and they bring a picture of a fitness Instagrammer they’d like to look like. . I think It’s great to feel inspired by someone as it can keep your motivation up to work harder towards your goals, but we should be a bit more mindful about it so we won’t get discourage when the results don’t come as quick we thought they will. . ❣️ Most of the fitness influencers or models we may follow, dedicate great part of their time looking after their bodies as they are trying to make a living out of the way the look. It’s hard work, many hours in the gym and kitchen! They may be sponsor by a fitness apparel brand, so this makes absolutely sense, right? ❣️ There is so much fakeness out there, Photoshop… so please, don’t believe everything you see on Instagram. ❣️ We need to be realistic with our busy schedules. How many hours per week can you dedicate to exercise and cooking? Make a plan and try to be consistent, results may take a bit longer but they will come. ❣️ Accept your body the way it naturally is. Hey, I am not saying you shouldn’t look after your body. We all have different goals, and if your goal is having a six pack you should work for it. I just want you to know that you are not unhealthy because a bit of skin is folding over on your stomach when you sit. ❣️ Don’t compare yourself to anybody else. We are all different, different body types and ways of living. Enjoy your own journey. ❣️ Don’t train to be skinny, to compete with anyone else or to show off, don’t train because society is imposing you to do so. Train because it may help to release your stress, because is fun or because it allows you to meet other people. No matter the reason, but always TRAIN FOR YOU. ♥️

Esprit with me on my "conditioning day" I believe this picture serves as a metaphor as well because in a few weeks time I will be the one standing proud and on top! Today was another "off day" or for me a "conditioning day". That was the distance I did with 50lbs on my back, I wish the app would track that along with the hills and sprints that I do, of course Esprit was with me and I got some great new pics of her! I finished it off with swinging an ax on a fallen tree using the tabata method. As you can see I left my mark.
