You are as happy and successful as you choose to be. I used to think people who said that you can choose your destiny and choose your mindset were crazy. I always said "it's not that simple" but IT IS (most of the time.. depression is an asshole and I'm not taking away from that because I have been there) but in most cases it is true. You are in control of your thoughts, your feelings, your actions and the way you handle situations. Your brain is the most powerful tool you possess. Choose happiness. Choose success. Choose to live a fulfilling life. I highly recommend reading the book "you are a badass" if you are feeling low or if you need some guidance. 💕

YOUR LIFE DOESN’T GET BETTER BY CHANCE, IT GETS BETTER BY MAKING POSITIVE CHANGES 👏🏼💕💪🏼. . Thank you all for continuing to follow my personal fitness journey. I can’t believe my fitness only account (@randacarrabbafitness) hit 2k followers already! To be honest, this transitional period is something I truly needed for myself plus it’s allowing me time to make the best future decision for all of us. I wish I had an online program already in place that I could be sending each of you to when you ask, but I promise I am making great strides in joining up with another program! I just can’t make any announcements quite yet, but I will say I’ve had some great meetings! A program that stands on the same values and missions that I stand on in is very vital. I am very IMPACT driven! I would love to have you join me over at @randacarrabbafitness where I still share lots of motivation, some of my workouts and foods I eat. . I am 3.5 weeks into no carb cycling (Bc I crave carbs every day now) and tremendously cutting back on intermittent fasting. I now only do IF 2-3 days a week rather than 7. I’m changing it up because my fitness goals have changed a bit, and I really want to live a sustainable lifestyle. Breakfast has never tasted so good as it now does on strength days.😊 Who wants me to do a video talking about all the changes I am seeing/feeling after I experience a month of this nutritional change?. . In closing, “Rest and self care are so important. When you take time to replenish yourself, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. I love introspection. I love goals. I love taking the time to think about what I want in life and what I can do to get there. This is why I love New Years resolutions. I know they are not for everyone, and that is okay. What is not okay, is not supporting others who want to better their lives. Gym rats I’m looking at you 👀. I know the gyms get crazy busy AND I know it’s so much fun to have the place to yourself as a personal playground. This year however, I challenge all fitness minded people, to welcome with open arms, all of the newcomers. They are here to improve their life, and you can help them! So this year instead of posting memes about how the gym is to busy for your liking, think about how the gym is filled with people trying to improve themselves, and how you can help them. Happy Saturday everyone! Today is my rest day and I know I should do a meal prep but my mom is visiting and brought all kinds of goodies. Which leads me to a bit of a confession. I have been lacking in the food department. I’ve gone off my macros a bit. So this weekend I plan on sitting down and figuring out where I need to be number wise. I can feel the difference in my body when I’m not taking the best care of it. Because I’m not giving my body what it needs (and probably too much of what it doesn’t) I’ve been feeling tired, foggy and unmotivated. I’m also lactose intolerant which means I can also get nausea, cramping and a rapid heart beat. So I’m thinking I might need to go vegan for at-least a few weeks and then take it from there. So on that note, please send me all your best vegan recipes! Motivation is only temporary and looking at others to inspire you is only shortlived! You dont matter to that fit chick with a mil followers and you probably wont ever look like her either. Soon as I stopped comparing myself the happier I was in my own body. I dont have an ideal body goal. Or someones body that I want. I'm pretty happy with my own, but having said that I love following like minded people who have the same interests as me. And I follow some seriously impressive physiques! But as soon as you compare yourself to them you set yourself on a downward spiral on never being happy with yourself. I'm never going to compete in anything, I lift because I enjoy it and I love the curves it gives me that I otherwise didnt have. And I love that every month I am stronger! . Why do we care so much what others think of us?🤔 . I had a vice principal tell me I shouldn’t go to my college of choice because it was religious and strict. I let that sit for a week before I said whatever lady you don’t even know me! . I used to be so concerned what I looked like working out thinking everyone in the gym was judging me- truth is they probably don’t even notice me🏋🏽‍♀️ . I used to care what someone on the other end of this screen thought about my passion as a fitness coach📲 the types of workouts I offer🙄 But after lots of personal growth I’ve learned that it’s NOT my job to hold onto other people’s opinions! . Simplified wedding planning. Is that even a thing? I am trying so hard to keep wedding planning simple, cost effective, and anxiety free! •• ▪️ It is so easy for me to over think all of the decisions, search for the perfect font for wedding invites, and complicate all of the “easy” stuff. •• ▪️ In an effort to actually enjoy the planning side of things, I have decided to go with my gut, think little about it, and know that the universe has my back to make this day amazing! I know I will be better off worrying less and being excited more because that is what the entire day is about!•• ▪️ I am marrying my favorite human and we are declaring our love and commitment to one another! ✨RISE & SHINE✨ If you know me, you know that I’m all about planning and preparing for what’s to come. So each night, I set out my workout clothes and a few other necessities to help me feel organized & get my day started the right way. When things are ready to go it’s easier to get out out of bed and get to work. When I’m not prepared it’s easier to come up with excuses as to why I don’t have time to workout. Taking 5 extra minutes to prepare the night before can be a game changer.👌

I am cursing @rankinerik a lot today and took my 4 mile afternoon run S U P E R easy because first of all, it was an easy run day anyway, and second of all, coach made me start spin classes and for some reason we, as a human race, have figured out space travel, cloning, and turduckins yet we haven't managed to make bike seats that don't leave your nether-regions bruised. Someone explain this to me! - Ugh, but I still did the ride and the run because I know that coach knows what's best and that he's trying to get me to my goals the safest and strongest way possible (and I know he's loving every minute of my torture). But just like I've said to him all along, "I may swear the entire way, but I will work hard and I won't quit." - And I can't give my feedback on whether or not spin class is fun or not because I was too worried my 🍑 wasn't going to survive to really pay attention, but I'll let y'all know once I regain feeling. I'm told it gets better. I think those people are lying. - And hey.... BONUS... I won treadmill solitaire like 3 times and was asked to present at my favorite #HigherEd conference this spring! So that's awesome and made me forget the discomfort! - 🚴🏼‍♀️ Spin Class: 55mins, 9.5 miles 🏃🏼‍♀️ Easy Run: 4mi, 48mins

I am on cloud 9 right now ☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️😁 I left my house to go for a run, working towards my goal of running a half marathon by February 2020. I figured I would run the first mile and then run/walk intervals from there on. I made it to the first mile, then figured I’d run a little further to see how far I could make it. The second mile came around and I was still doing good so I kept going. Y’all, I ran the WHOLE 3 MILES!! I am so excited and proud! Even in my high school days of running cross country, I NEVER ran the whole race 🏃‍♀️ I give all the credit to these workouts I have been doing right from home! For almost 3 months, I have worked out 6 days a week for no more than 30 minutes each day. I press play on my computer and just get it done. I have never felt more fit and in-shape in my life! I also have my online coaching gig to thank for helping me stick to these workouts. I LOVE telling my story and helping others to find their way through their own health journey, whatever their personal goals may be. I am motivated every day to press play because I know I am being a positive influence to others! It’s been an extra long weekend that was extra special 💚 I am lucky enough to work for a school system that acknowledges US holidays! Extra days off at home with Oliver are THE best! Today was a BONUS! Our school had a cold day, so I was able to extend my weekend by another day 🙌🏼 although today Oliver is at daycare, I am 100% enjoying the extra time at home 🏡 #gratefulmindset

BALLS GALORE! ⚽️🏀🎾 Sometimes it’s hard to get enough protein in to your diet and these nutella protein balls are such a delicious way to sneak some more in. My favourite recipe has to be plain old Choc Coconut but these are incredible if you’re in the mood for something a little more indulgent (or a little more of a treat 😜) They only take a few minutes to make and are full of protein and nutritious foods 👇🏼 Ingredients ~ 1 Cup of Hazelnuts (150g) ~ 1 Cup of Dates (150g) ~ 1 Tablespoon of Chia ~ 1 Scoop of Vanilla Protein (I use a sachet of our yummy Plant based vanilla powder) ~ 1-2 Tablespoons of Cacao Powder ⠀⠀ Pour boiling water over the dates and leave the to soak for about 10 minutes. Dry roast the hazelnuts at 180°C for about 10 minutes. Then rub them around in a clean kitchen towel to remove any of the loose shells. Add the hazelnuts to your blender and blitz until you have a coarse, crumbly nut flour. Then add in the protein and cacao powder and blitz to combine. Drain the dates and add them in, blending on high until you have a sticky paste 🙈 Use your hands to squish and roll the mixture into balls. I made balls that were quite big (about 4 bites size) so I got 8 out of the mixture but you can make smaller ones and get 10-12 out of it 💕
