Macros 🤔 . To track them or not? I tracked my macros pretty consistently for a year and a half, stopping at the end of March 2018. . Verdict: it helps!! It helps reach your goals, whatever that may be. To be honest, I became a bit obsessed when I first started tracking. It was on the verge of being unhealthy. When I recognized it, I made sure to take breaks from tracking. I had amazing support from my husband as well. It helps having someone that has similar goals. The last thing that I wanted was a bad relationship with food. . Currently, I'm intuitive eating and loving it. I reached my goals and now my new goal is to maintain and be consistent. Making sure to eat well balanced meals and snacks. . Am I done with tracking my macros for good? Absolutely not!! This girl hit a new low weight today: 109.5 pounds! 😛 all while eating over 1500 calories a day, doing less than 15 min of cardio A WEEK, and not restricting myself. 🙅🏼‍♀️ when 2018 started I was fluctuating between 115-117 pounds. I felt okay, but I had goals in mind that I promised myself I wouldn’t give up on. It’s only been a little over 2 months, and I can’t wait to see what happens next! I feel so good, mentally and physically. 🙏🏻 now if only my fiancé would come home! ❤️👅

My health and fitness journey has been anything but “perfect”. I’ve had chocolate 🍫 for breakfast and wine 🍷 for dinner. I’ve Sunday brunched too hard (if that’s even possible 🤔), snoozed past my morning workouts and had to get them in at night 💪🏽 Is that my life 100% of the time? No. But it totally happens 😂So...Why do I share this? Because I’m HUMAN🤪. Sometimes there’s this pressure from working in the fitness industry that you have to be “perfect” and have your health and fitness all together. But I don’t think I’ll ever be that girl that has 10% body fat and 6 pack abs, and I’m OKAY with that. Because that’s not my priority in my life and for others it is and that’s totally cool too! Everyone is unique and wants different things out of life. I simply want to be healthy enough to live a long, healthy, energetic passionate life with my love. 💕 I want to be fit enough to play beach volleyball 🏐 🌴 and not get winded. And I want to help others realize that you can have BALANCE and live a very healthy life without feeling RESTRICTED 🚫 Health and fitness isn’t just about aesthetics, but all that a healthy and fit life can bring you - energy, confidence, passion, a positive mindset. Happy Memorial Day Weekend!! . . Memorial Day Weekend is the kick off for summer 😎 Bring on the BBQs, parties, cook-outs, & family get togethers. Which will more than likely include burgers, drinks, chips & dips etc. Since I know you have goals to crush, I’m sharing a few tips & tricks that will help you stay on track. You can still stay on track while having fun. . . 1.) Water First~ Make sure your staying hydrated!! 16oz of water before you eat &!water between alcoholic drinks. . . 2.) Veggies most ~ at cook outs, or get togethers aim for mostly veggies. If non are available offer to bring a veggie trey instead of chips & dip. . . 3.) Grilling out ~ Skip the bun. Wrap your burger in the lettuce or just eat the burger, chicken or whatever protein your grilling. Filling up on protein is going to keep you full & satisfied. . . 4.) Stay Active ~ Get your workout in before your event, that way it’s out of the way, but during your event go for a walk, play outside with the kids etc. . . I want you to have fun this weekend (weather permitting) & it is totally doable to enjoy your event while chasing your health & fitness goals. Take some time to be grateful for all the men & women who have served this country for our freedom. . . I didn’t plan on posting this picture at first. The photo on the left was taken after a decent mini bulk and the right was suppose to be after a successful cut... obviously the cut didn’t happen. When I first saw this comparison I felt disappointed. But then I realized something very important. My disappointment didn’t stem from what I saw, which was what I originally thought. It stemmed from not reaching a goal I set for myself. In truth, I’m happy with my body. It’s not where I want to be, but none the less it is mine. It is something I have put a lot of hard work into. It is strong. More than that, I realized my failure to have a successful cut was because I actually cared for my health. I didn’t always have a great relationship with food and restricting scared me. I was worried old habits would rear their ugly face and my health wouldn’t be a priority anymore. It’s a mental battle. I haven’t overcome it, but I realize I took a step in the right direction. It’s ok if you are not where you want to be right now. Change takes time, but it’s important to step back and see all the small accomplishments and appreciate what you do have, while continuing to strive for what you want.

Rant Friday because sometimes I get a dose of fire + don’t understand why us girls set judgement on other women based on if they are eating salads to get bikini ready, or eating McDonald’s fries because they already have their bikini body, or maybe they are working so hard to just feel okay in a bikini, or maybe they don’t give a fuck what they look like in a bikini. Whatever it is why do we body shame, most girls know what it’s like to feel insecure, but yet you can’t scroll social media without casting judgment or poking fun! My PSA: If a girl wants to lose weight LET HER. If a girl wants to rock her bikini "thicker" LET HER. If a girl doesn't want to eat salads LET HER. If a girl enjoys eating junk food LET HER. If a girl wants to change her life in a healthy way LET HER. If a girl doesn't want to change her life in a healthy way + chooses to stay the way she is LET HER. We wonder why girls are so mean. We wonder why girls aren't happy for each other. We wonder why is women are constantly judging other based on their appearance. We wonder why girls suffer from eating disorders. We wonder why body issues are so big in our society. We question everything other girls are doing but have we really looked in the mirror at ourselves? STOP putting your opinions on others based on their body image. Support each other it's not that hard to lift each other up and show LOVE. I had made my mind up that I wasn’t going to go to the gym. I was in my pjs and had a glass of wine. I sat down to dinner and after I ate my two beer brats, I felt like I was giving up on my goals. I have specific goals that I want to achieve. They aren’t mandated by the number on the scale but more so that I want to be confident in who I am and I want to love myself. I went to the gym after all of that. I did cardio. I just needed to get out of my own head. I needed to not think. So I did 45 minutes of elliptical and watched YouTube videos. I wasn’t planning on posting anything emotional today but here it goes: I saw my mom last night, and it was the first time in a while that I’ve spent time talking to just her. She’s never understood my “obsession” (as she calls it) with health and so naturally my workout regimen came up. I was honest with her, like I am with you guys, about my recent weight gain and the changes I’m making in my diet. Then I told her about all the PRs I’ve been hitting in the gym lately and how excited I am about it. Instead of being excited for me she immediately said, “Well that’s why you gained the weight. You’re starting to get huge and manly. You should just do more cardio instead of lifting so heavy.” And guys I almost cried, that was really really tough to hear especially from her. For those who don’t know, my fitness journey has made my relationship with my mom a little more difficult because she’s overweight and really resistant to any conversation about health. I grew up eating carbs for almost every meal and processed sugar all the time. This journey has been about teaching myself entirely new habits rather than getting back to them like others have to. . . I’m not going to lie and tell you I had an awesome lift today after that conversation. It was definitely in my head all day, but when I looked at myself in the mirror after I lifted I realized something: I like my body a lot more now than I ever did before I started this journey. Yes, I have muscle. But I don’t look manly! I think I look pretty damn good. And I love my muscle pumps, they make me proud of my workout. . . So this is me. Triceps pump, fat and all. Well we can add Triceps + Biceps to the list of things feelin sore. Lol. 3 x 20 has are arms feelin like jello. Definitely saw some progress 🙌🏼. I didn’t use my 5lbs but had them there in case for the Tricep kickbacks. My triceps are slowly coming along & getting stronger. They’ve been one of my slower muscle groups to change. BUT I remember using a yellow resistance band when I did 80 Day Obsession & today I did 20 reps each side for 3 rounds with a green, & I used my 8lbs weights on Alternating Tricep Kickbacks. Whoohoo!! 👏🏼. PROGRESS!! I may not be where I want to be yet, but every day I work on becoming the best me that I can be. Every day I’m one step closer. . . Just because your not “seeing” progress as fast as you would like, doesn’t mean you give up & say Owell. NO! You give your best every day. Change is happening every time you try & DO, whether you “see” it or not. Keep at it & enjoy the journey!! 💪🏼 . . Better late than never! Today was crazy with unexpected things popping up! I had to take our dog for his vet appt this morning which went longer than anticipated. When we got home, poor Presley had spiked a 102.5 fever so I had to take her in last minute. All she wanted was snuggles and to scream. My workout got pushed until after the kids went to bed. I almost ran out of motivation, but I love bicep/tricep day so I got to it! • • Life will always throw curveballs at you, some bigger than others. I’ve learned to just roll with it and adjust as needed. No, I’m not always super positive and I do lose my motivation. I have found that if I keep pushing through what’s thrown at me, it gets easier and easier every time. LONG POST • Earlier this week my youngest turned two. (😭) These photos were taken at 38 weeks pregnant, 3 days postpartum and 2 years postpartum. Being a busy mom, one of the questions I get asked the most is “how”. • “How do you balance it?” “How do you find time to workout?” “How do you stick with your diet?” • So I thought I would try and answer these questions as best I can. • First, find a gym with childcare. This is the biggest one for me. Find a place that your kids love to be and where you trust that your kids are looked after. I’m a stay at home mom and realize my kids need to get out of the house and burn off some crazy. Being able to drop them off for play is a great reason to just show up to the gym. Trusting the people they are with allows me to not stress and focus solely on my workout. • Another [not really tip but needs to be said] is that you need to make it a priority. Life gets busy, but you make time for what you make a priority. It’s easy to make excuses, but if it’s a goal that you want to actively peruse, you’ll need to sacrifice time elsewhere. There are 168 hours in a week, giving a few hours of it to working out is definitely possible. • Eating healthy... try to eat healthy as much as possible, but 🍩 and🍕 are my thing, so it’s about finding balance. No, my kids don’t always eat their veggies, but that doesn’t stop me from making them. If I can find a recipe for a healthy casserole, that’s a life saver because prepping and freezing makes life easier. And meal preps normally get done at nap time so that I’m not chasing kids while cooking. Or when my husband is home. • And that’s that. As parents it’s easy to forget about ourselves because we are so wrapped up in these tiny adorable humans. Not only that, but we’re lead to believe that any focus on ourself means we are not doing a good job as a parent, which causes a lot of guilt. I believe when we take care of ourselves, we are better able to take care of others.
