Whenever the boys + I go for walks, Lincoln always finds special treasures + brings them to me. ⁣ ⁣ Last night after dinner, his white blonde hair matted to his red, sweaty face, he ran up to me (wearing his favorite summer outfit- athletic shorts, t-shirt + rain boots- regardless of the weather) and held out his little 4 year old hand. ⁣ ⁣ “Mama! I brought you a flower! Isn’t it beautiful?!”⁣ ⁣ Yes baby. I love it. Daisies are my favorite. Thank you. ⁣ ⁣ He then proceeded to shorten the stem for me so it would be “easier to put in water when we get back in the house.” My boy is so logical. ⁣ ⁣ I wish I could bottle up these moments + relive them when he is 16 and headed out with his buddies (or worse yet, love interest 🤯😥) instead of going for walks with his old mama. ⁣ ⁣ Until then, there will be bouquets of hand-picked wildflowers in my kitchen windowsill in not-so-fancy glasses to remind me of those little moments that mean so much. ⁣ ⁣ Do your kids bring you treasures? Do you have a method of preserving them? Moms of teenage boys, please tell me they still bring you flowers sometimes, too 🤪❤️⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ ⁣

Tabata is a form of high intensity interval training designed to get your heart rate up in that very hard anaerobic zone for short periods of time. By doing this, you train all of your energy systems, something that regular cardio workouts usually don't do . Not only does that make you more fit, it helps you burn more calories both during and after your workouts. The reason this type of HIIT workout works so well is because of the work-to-rest ratio. You only get 10 seconds of rest between each 20-second bout of exercise. That very short interval isn't enough to allow you to fully recover, which is one reason it's great for building endurance and getting you in shape. The Tabata Protocol Format * 20 seconds of a very high intensity exercise * 10 seconds of rest * Repeat 8 times for a total of 4 minutes

TRAVEL HEALTHY: Traveling is not an excuse for being unhealthy. This took me 5 minutes to prepare and pack for my flight so I’m not stuck with only airport food as options. Planning ahead is crucial for ensuring your success in just about any venture, but especially when it comes to your health. Tips to Travel Healthy: 1) Pack some food/snacks- options at airports, while they are improving, are still not that great when it comes to your health. 2) Stay hydrated- flying can dehydrate you so drink 8oz every hour on the flight. 3) Sleep- travel can wear you out and a run down body often has a lowered immune system and you can get sick. 4) Sanitize- Airplanes are gross and rarely disinfected. Bring a Lysol wipe, hand sanitizer, and if you don’t mine funny looks...a N95 germ mask. Those are my top 4 healthy travel tips.
