Love learning new techniques. This is a good example of finishing a set with negatives. These are actually done with cables in Extreme Loading, which probably work better. But the band was cool too. Start with loose band. Step back until there's a good tug on the barbell from the band and lower slowly. Repeat 2x. Day 6 of My Fit For Change challenge. Saturday night Hustle for the muscle. 💪 I almost took a rest day because it was getting late. But I quickly realized that I get to workout from home and my today was only 30 minutes. So there was no reason that I couldn't get it done. I have to tell you, this new 3 week challenge is just that a Freaking challenge. Every single workout so far has pushed me out of my comfort zone. But I getting it done. I can feel my body changing alright in 6 days. Happy Flex Friday. Day 5 of my Get Fit for Christmas challenge. Cardio hardio day. This cardio workout put a treadmill to shame. My heart rate was definitely up which means I was torching calories. I remember I used think that doing a lot of traditional cardio would help me burn more calories. NOT. Doing this type of cardio workout definitely will lean you out. One month after my 50k, I hit a post-surgery deadlift PR tonight. 🙌 2 reps at #!!! WHOOP! 💪💪 I've been putting in the work at the gym, trying to ease back into things while still pushing myself. The hardest part has been believing in my abilities. While I was training for the race, I wasn't lifting heavy so I haven't really pushed (like really pushed) things since before I hurt my knee (back in July of 2016! 😱) So, combine that with my "easing" philosophy and trusting in my body is a little bit of a challenge. 😳🙄 Something changed tonight, though. I pushed all the nonsense aside and stepped up to that bar with confidence. I could have put less weight on the bar - I thought about maybe 190# or even 195# - but went for it anyway. And guess what? I crushed it. 🙌💪 .... And now I'm excited. And I want more. .... Put in the work. Believe in yourself. Trust your skills. Tell your brain to EFF OFF with that negativity. Whatever it is, YOU'VE GOT THIS. You have to try. You have to shoot for the 🌟 🌟. If you don't quite make it, that's okay. You went for it and you'll get it next time. But, if you make it? Raise those hands up in the air and celebrate your accomplishment! 🙌💃 And then, get ready for more. 😁💖 .... 🎥: @kali_meadows1 🤗

WORKING OUT AT HOME DOES NOT GET “GYM” RESULTS. . 😂 It’s ok, I used to think the same and then I was dared to give this “madness” 30 days. That was almost 18 months ago. I’ve YET to step foot in a gym since May 2017. I’m 48, a mother of 3- I was terrified of losing my “gym” results. Not only did I NOT, the GAINS I’ve made can NOT be measured & I don’t mean just physically. I am learning every single day & I LOVE that. I have made treasured friends through this online fitness. I reconnected with friends who I now get to share this healthy journey with daily. I am eating cleaner than I have in my whole life. I get to be an example to my kids at how important our fitness & nutrition is and you know what else, I’m having a blast! Crazier still- I get paid to do what I find so much joy and passion in. . Why do I look so mean on #flexfriday because I’m mad that I forgot about these dang stairs I’d have to climb on leg day. I used to get mad a lot, it held me back, then I found out that I was really just mad at myself, mad for messing up other people’s lives, mad that I couldn’t get myself out of a situation from long ago, mad that I thought I was beyond redemption. When I found grace it poked a needle in that anger, it’s not gone but it’s on it’s way out.
