The moment during the day when we very first open our eyes and come into consciousness is a precious opportunity. It sets the tone for all that comes after it. At this moment, our ability to create the day is at its most powerful, and we can offer ourselves fully to the creative process by filling this moment with whatever inspires us most. It may be that we want to be more generous, or it may be that we want to be more open to beauty in our daily lives. Whatever the case, if we bring this vision into our minds at this very fertile moment, we empower it to be the guiding principle of our day. Sometimes we wake up with a mood already seemingly in place, and it's important to give this feeling its due. It can inform us and deepen our awareness to what's going on inside us, as well as around us. As long as we are conscious, we can honor this feeling and also introduce our new affirmation or vision, our conscious offering to the day. We may want to decide before we go to sleep what we want to bring to the next day of our lives. It could be that we simply want to be more open to whatever comes our way. Or we may want to summon a particular quality such as confidence. Then again, we may simply call up a feeling that perfectly captures the texture we want our day to have. We can reaffirm our vision or affirmation as we shower and eat breakfast, as well as recalling it at various times throughout the day. We can write it down and carry it with us on a little slip of paper if this helps. Simply by being aware of those first moments, we set the stage for a more conscious, enlivened experience, and we become active participants in the creation of our lives. #sankalpa #consiousness

Day 2 of #solsticebirthdaycelebration is any standing pose. Whilst I may post, practice and teach lots of balance postures, I find them INCREDIBLY HARD!!! I’ve been very flat footed, with weak, super hyper mobile ankles my entire life, which makes firming through the standing leg and lifting energy through the arches really tough. Tantangan terbesar adalah mempertahankan komitmen dan konsistensi. Berawal dengan bersama beberapa teman di bulan Januari, berawal dari seminggu sekali, aku berusaha mempertahankan motivasiku. Satu persatu teman berguguran. Aku berusaha bertahan, menambah waktu yoga menjadi 2x seminggu, bahkan di bulan puasa hampir tiap hari menyempatkan 20-30 menit yoga . (true story btw). .. 2️⃣ Sit a few feet in front of the wall, and use hands behind you to support, then Place your feet on the wall with knees bent. .. 3️⃣ Use your hands to scooch your hips towards the wall as you begin to slide your legs up the wall. .. 4️⃣ Your arms hold you up as you stretch your torso closer to your legs. . 5️⃣ Please don’t forget to breathe!!!! My body felt great this morning but my mind was just all over the place. Couldn't really focus on anything while practicing 🙈 Maybe it's the full 🌝? Anyone else feeling it? 🤔😏 . . I like to do some core strengthening drills every time I practice. I'm personally not a fan of millions of reps or sit-ups so I like to do just lot of different core drills and feel the 🔥🌶️🌋. I've found that this is what works for my body & especially mind! ☺️ At the moment I'm focusing on working more on my compression skilz - my long term goal is to do a stalder press one day! I rarely lunge like this now (end of post I’ll explain when it’s good to) _ I used to think that if I lunged this deeply and found a stretch in my right hip or thigh then I was doing my hips justice _ Mr Flexi-Hips eventually because Mr My Back Fucking Hurts thanks to destabilising my hip joints _ But I wanted to share this photo because there is something pretty noticeable happening in my right butt that is sinfully forgotten in many yoga practises _ A big ask of your hips I often see when yoga practitioners lunge but soften the glute of the hip flexor they are attempting to open. This is one of the fastest ways to blow your sacro-iliac joint and experience wonderful waves of unnecessary pain _ Feel for activating the lower glute fibres towards hamstrings - but DO NOT attempt to squeeze your anal sphincter; not unless you want to experience another type of pain _ In this photo, for lunge backbend (not just lunge), as I was experimenting with front hip flexibility by enhancing back hip stability, I only go as far as I can feel an equal distribution of weight through legs, hips and spine _ The more in tune you get, the more of the truth you will feel - I have seen this wisdom build in long term yogis, contortionists and acrobats _ We can either do this for a short time, or until the day we are done with life itself. I prefer to lunge until my last days
