Upper body part ✌🏽 • Horizontal ↔️ push can be push ups or bench press. • Vertical ↕️ push can be overhead press or handstands (which I cannot do). • Was able to work up to 105# for a double 🤗 and what used to be my one rep #) can now be done for 4 reps 😁 slowly but surely 💪🏽 • Exercise progress is not fast. People who go into physical therapy should realize that it can take time 🕓 Be patient. Stick to the program. Results will come. If you're not sure, ask your PT what to expect in your case. • Delays can happen 🤷🏻‍♀️ did you reinjury it? Do you have diabetes, smoke, or have poor circulation? If you are an advanced lifter with good shoulder health, try one arm barbell overhead presses next time you train shoulders! The bar alone is 45 lbs, so test how much weight you can rep on OHP with dumbbells before you try this. If you can't lift more than 45 lbs on dumbbells, you're not ready for this (keep working 💪). Excellent post by @strong_by_science . . Recovery is an important aspect of rehabilitation and sport performance that often gets overlooked. . . I know that I need to work on increasing my sleep and decreasing the stress I place on myself mentally. Some good ways to do this are to plan out your day and week accordingly so that you get 8-10 hours of sleep each night. Ways to decrease mental stress include exercise, meditation, monitoring nutrition, breathing exercises and prayer. . . We tend to focus on how we can improve ourselves in the weight room, but the other hours outside of the weight room is where you adapt. . . Mental stress and sleep go hand in hand. There are studies that show mental stress can reduce sleep and a reduction in sleep can increase mental stress. Together, if not checked these two variables can create a viscous loop. You can train as hard as you want, but you can only adapt as much as you allow your body to do so. . .
