When I was a teenager, when I just started driving, I remember so many times where I got into my car & just stared at my legs 😅 ____ I would look down and be immediately upset 😢 ____ I couldn’t understand why my thighs touched.. and automatically started thinking that I was “fat” or ugly, simply because I didn’t have a thigh gap 🙄 ____ Isn’t that so STUPID?! 🤔 ___ It’s sad, but it’s something that women go through all the time 🤷🏼‍♀️ ___ And social media has only made it worse.. because we start comparing ourselves to celebrities & influencers, with “perfect bodies” 😬 ____ And although we work our butts off to look like them, we never do.. and that only makes us hate ourselves even more 😢 ____ Let me pose a question: if you wear a size 10 shoe, you would never try to squeeze your foot into a 5.. and vice versa, right? 🧐 _____ Yet, we are constantly comparing ourselves to people who have entirely different genetic blueprints OR people who’ve had cosmetic surgery🤷🏼‍♀️ _____ That only sets us up to hate ourselves 😭🤦🏼‍♀️ _____ The more I began to say, “HEY it’s okay that my legs touch, because I genetically carry weight in my legs,” the more I accepted my genetic blueprint, & the less I compared myself to others.. the more confident I started feeling in my own skin 🙌🏻❤️ _____ It’s easier said than done, I know, but if you are ready to start being more confident, you HAVE TO stop trying to be someone who you are not 🙅🏼‍♀️ _____ Start owning the things that make you, uniquely you, because the beautiful thing about life is that NO ONE else looks like you 🙌🏻
