Moon salutations are a fun way to mix up the normal sun salutation, work on some new aspects of flexibility, and can be used to either energize the body or calm the central nervous system. This leads to a body that is more functional but a mind that is more calm and has less stress/anxiety/worry. Hold each posture for 5 deep breaths. Eka pada galavasana to Eka pada 2 In other words, some of what we played at @tihhy_ this morning. Also I just finished yesterday a month sugar free (refined and honey/maple/agave/etc) and alcohol free. Last January, my friend @fannylauren said she was doing this full month with no alcohol and my first thought was “wow I could never do that!”......So you start to know me of course, it became something I really wanted to do 😄. Fanny thanks for the inspo ! November went actually pretty fast and I didn’t miss sugar at all while I have a big sweet tooth. Alcohol was more of a challenge as I love a good glass of wine while chilling on the weekend. I felt great the first week and then normal, no crazy change...This said I taught a lot of classes and I probably handled them better because of that. For sure it was a good pause for my body and I feel like I don’t crave them both so much anymore. I was great without too. I rested more because I planed less dîner. I was also starting to hate the day after alcohol (even just some glasses of wine) because I would always feel weaker and a bit nostalgic or like, sad...You can sweat it out at @dynamocycling but there ain’t no joke with @tihhy_ and alcohol 😂 it just doesn’t work and I’ll choose my practice first no question ! Now that this is done, I can make the conclusion that it was a good challenge and it went fast. I feel detached to it even if I will enjoy sweets and drinks, I also love not to have them, and I love to easily control if I say yes to it or not, it’s not just a pulsion anymore (i would always say yes to desserts like you dot even know) I feel like I forgot about that, how great you feel when they are not around. Bottom line, I prefer to allow me everything when I want, but I want to be completely aware of the results on my physical performances and don’t disturb them. I also want my mind clarity. This last one comes with full awareness but also in unwinding through peaceful and quality moments...I love to have control and I love to enjoy...To end, i didn’t know if I could stick to it but not once I felt it was hard or I was going to break it. I think I am in a good balance now, and it was great to do it.☺

BALANCE ⚖️ After letting myself be lazy, just enjoying time with my love @aman_basho 😍, swimming 🏊 , eating 🌮 , having cold 🍻 whilst watching the ocean 🌊 , a few gentle stretches and meditation, my body felt like it needed some movement and yang back! So I went to vinyasa flow and pilates classes yesterday and today and damn it felt good! 🤸🏼‍♀️😃 It’s all about balance, not only on our arms in a yoga pose but being able to listen carefully to our needs in the present moment, just being here and now sometimes is what your body and mind needs so you don’t have to beat yourself up when this happens. I’ve been LOVING🥰 everyone’s posts so far!!! Welcome to 🕊DAY 3 OF #12birdsofyoga: Parsva Bakasana, Side Crow or Eka Pada Koundinyasana I, Split-leg Side Crow! . An arm balance with a twist! The set-up for both variations is the same. Remember that practicing the steps as far as you can go IS the posture, even if the feet do not lift today. This is the practice, and it 👏🏼 all 👏🏼 counts! 👏🏼 . PARSVA BAKASANA HOW-TO: 🌟Begin in Prapadasana, tip-toe pose. Squeeze your legs together. Engage Mula Bandha. This should make your hips feel light off of the heels. 🌟Twist to the right, bringing your left elbow to the outside of your right thigh. 🌟Lift your hips and lean over until your hands touch the ground, shoulder-width apart and with your fingers pointing about two o’clock (your knees are at twelve o’clock). Gaze a few feet out in front of your hands. 🌟 Bend your elbows and keep them parallel with each other, pointing back toward your feet. Keep transferring weight into your hands, while actively pressing your hands into the ground. 🌟Exhale all your air and pull your abs in tight. 🌟Inhale, lean more and pop your feet up, bringing your shins parallel to the ground. EKA PADA KOUNDINYASANA I HOW-TO: 🌟Extend your bottom leg forward and your top leg back. 🌟Work to get your legs straight, keeping them active and strong. PRACTICE TIPS: 👉🏼When first learning Side Crow, you may try bringing the first elbow outside of the thigh and the second elbow to the outside of the hip. Although a bit deeper twist, the outside elbow creates a larger fulcrum around which the upper and lower body rotate. 👉🏼Try beginning in toe stand on a block. "Just be in tune with what IS" . . . But most of the time we see things only through our worry. When we see everything as it is, there is only joy, and when there is joy, no thoughts get recorded in you. There are only empty spaces. That is why when you are joyful you feel light, because nothing gets recorded. When you see everything through worry, more thoughts get recorded in you and you feel heavy. There is a common saying, ‘We don’t see things as they are. We see things as we are.’ If you feel there is something wrong with what you are seeing, then you should look back in at yourself because what you see outside is only a reflection of what is inside you. If you feel pure love inside, then you see only pure love outside. It always has to do with you, not with what you are seeing.
