I’ve been craving more power in my practice lately 💪🏼🔥 Mixing these moves will help you build more strength! . ✨DOWNWARD DOG CRUNCH: This is a great move to build core strength & excellent prep for crow pose. When you shift forward, keep the leg tucked as high as you can! . 💖VINYASA: Plank, Chaturanga, Updog, Downward Dog: This Classic series literally works the entire body! ☝🏼Drop the knees if you need to, but flow through this flow often and you’ll see a change in your physical practice! . 👍🏼SIDE PLANK: Keep the hips lifted high. ☝🏼Drop the lower knee to modify. If you want to add an extra strength/balance challenge, try lifting that top leg . 🔥WARRIOR 2 - FLOW + REACH & HOLD: This fires up that front leg & glute! FOMO 🆘 Durch Social Media bin ich letztens auf diese skurrile Abkürzung gestoßen. 🧠 Hmmm FOMO dachte ich mir, klingt nicht wirklich toll. *Spoiler* ist es auch nicht. 💨 . Es steht für die englische Phrase “Fear of Missing out" 📓🌻, also kurz gesagt die Angst etwas zu verpassen, wenn man nicht überall erreichbar oder gar dabei ist. 💗 Ich hab so viele Macken glaub mir, aber erst dachte ich die könnte ich getrost weglassen, denn das habe ICH ja wirklich gar nicht. 😛 . Das liegt daran das ich FOMO zuerst mit Parties und co verband. 💃🏽 Und ich tanze zwar gerne und bin auch Unternehmungslustig, aber Parties sind für mich irgendwie eher ne Seltenheit, weil mir Bücher und Netflix irgendwie doch mehr zusagen. 📚 Aber wenn ich ganz ehrlich zu mir selbst bin, dann merke ich schnell das auch ich von FOMO betroffen bin. 👀 . Und weißt du was? Du auch! 🌊 Sonst würde diese ganze Prinzip von Social Media gar nicht so gut laufen wie es das tut. 🎠 Man teilt, liket, kommentiert, kommuniziert, stalkt, tauscht sich aus. Und das täglich. 🐚 . Ich finde viele Dinge davon toll, sonst wäre ich ja nicht hier und trotzdem missfällt mir dieses Gefühl von FOMO. 🙈 Viel zu oft schauen wir viel intensiver auf andere Leben als auf unser eigenes, aus Angst wir könnten etwas verpassen, dabei verpassen wir in dem Moment das wohl wertvollste überhaupt. 🌍 Unser eigenes Leben. 💫 . Wir sind ständig unter Strom, haben immer was zu tun und wenn es nur 3h durch Instagram scrollen ist. 🏔 Glaubt mir das ist für euer Gehirn anstrengend genug bei den ganzen Emotionen und Eindrücken. 🎈 Dabei entfernen wir uns viel zu oft von uns selbst.... 🛤 . Kannst du dich einfach hinsetzen? Ohne alles? Für 10, 15, 30 Minuten? “Nichts” tun? Meditieren? 🧘🏽‍♀️ Probiers mal aus. 🌱 Wunderbares wird passieren und du wirst nichts wichtiges verpassen, denn das Wichtigste ist dir in diesen Momenten so viel näher als sonst. 🌟 . 😬FEELING STRESSED?! 😬 . Idk if it’s the gloomy weather, lack of sun or if I’m just going through a phase of feeling stressed/overwhelmed/in a funk 😩 Remember that EVERYONE has bad days! What’s important is how we respond 🙌🏼💖 These are some of my go-to poses when I’m not feeling my best... . 💁🏼‍♀️You can hold these poses for as long as you like. Some you may like to hold longer than others & that’s okay!! . 😚RECLINED COBBLER: Bottoms of the feet come together & knees fall open to the side. Place one hand on your heart & one on your belly. Close the eyes & breathe! . 😉SUPPORTED BRIDGE & BRIDGE POSE: Feet are flat on your mat. Place a block under the hips. ✨TIP: If you don’t have a block, use a thick book with a blanket on top 👍🏼 If you want to come into the full pose, remove the block and lift the hips. Arms can rest on the mat or interlace behind your back. . 🤗LEGS UP THE WALL: This is an excellent pose to calm the body & mind! Place a block under your hips & lift the legs up to the sky. You can do this with or without the block. Or up against a wall! . 😁SHOULDER STAND & PLOW: Lift the hips high rolling up onto the shoulders. Keep the neck long! Hands support the low back. You can bend the knees or keep them straight as you lower them over head for plow. . 😊CHILDS POSE: Knees open to the side and toes together. Sit back on the heels and teach the arms forward. Close the eyes & breathe. . 😑MINI MEDITATION: Sit comfortably & place the back of the hands on the knees. Close the eyes and breathe deeply. ✨Remember that stress doesn’t last forever. If you’re feeling upset or stuck in your head, try some of these poses to help get your focus out of the problem and into your body & breath. It’s difficult to write about how frightened I am feeling. I have just seen a consultant about my bowel and has booked me in for an MRI tomorrow. I’ve eaten no solid food since Monday, praying this surgeon can help me. I don’t like to think ‘why me’ because it can be soul destroying. That’s why I’m continuing to try and keep focused and motivating myself through these pics. If I end up having surgery I can get through it, I’ve done it before. You would never have known I spent months in a wheel chair several years before these photos. . 🥳🗓🤸🏽‍♀️ Day 8️⃣ of #AYearOfYoga2019 with @cyogalife ➡️ #Wheel or #UrdhvaDhanurasana 🤸🏽‍♀️🗓🥳 . It’s been 2 years of daily yoga practise to achieve this progress. I worked on strengthening and stretching all the elements which help build this deep back bend. . It saddens me that the hyper mobile here on Instagram are exploited and don’t help themselves in the long run. If you approach this pose purely from the lumbar you are going to cause your self serious back problems. I ask my students to think of a bow and arrow. If you bend the bow from the middle it will snap but either side makes it safe. EXPECTATION vs REALITY: Flexibility!! 👉🏼 When I first began practicing yoga - I wanted to prove how flexible I was. Taking gymnastics and dance for over 6 years during my childhood, I am naturally more flexible and loved the idea I already knew how to do a backbend, splits and could bend down and touch my toes. However as an adult I wasn’t as flexible when I was a girl practicing gymnastics, and I started forcing my body into poses to prove I was advanced in yoga and knew exactly what I was doing. 🤦🏼‍♀️ This actually only proved the opposite and after pulling my hamstring and a muscle in my upper back, I realized that flexibility might not mean what I think it does and I need to listen to my body. 💜 There is no clear image of what your flexibility should look like - it’s 💯 what it should feel like. There will always be someone out there who is more flexible than you and that doesn’t devalue the progress you’ve made in your body or how far you’ve come on your journey. 💓 I promise you’re not too inflexible to practice yoga, I promise you’re not too weak to hit your fitness goal, I promise you aren’t too behind to get ahead, and I promise you are just enough and you can do anything you set your mind too. Find out who you are and do it on purpose - Dolly Parton ♡ Part two of this little flow. Here’s another snippet of what I get up to after I’ve warmed up my body, and how I work on deepening two of my favourite asanas: #hanumanasana and #urdhvadhanurasana. I love playing around on my mat, following the flow of my body and my breath, tuning inwards and move my body until every inch of it feels good. Until I’ve stretched out every little muscle, and until I can move freely for the rest of the day, without any hindrance, stiffness or discomfort. And that looks different every day. Some days I wear this and I strut my stuff while feeling like a goddess. Other days I wear yoga pants and an oversized t shirt feeling all kinds of badass. And some days I take it slow, easy and unimpressive wearing something else. Priča zvana smrznuto rame ili što bi rekli insta popularno - story time.😊💬 Kad sam otišla na prvi čas joge, susrela sam se sa ograničenim pokretima u predelu ramena, pogotovo levog. Kad god bi se radio položaj gomukhasane, gde je položaj ruku kao na slici, za mene je bila noćna mora. Tada nije bilo moguće da uhvatim prste iza leđa od bolova. Nisam ni znala da imam neku dijagnozu jer je taj bol u ramenu postao normalan. Sve do prošle godine kad mi se desio nezgodan pad sa bicikla, a cela leva ruka je stradala. Ništa polomljeno, ali jesam imala 3 dijagnoze: sindrom karpalnog tunela, "teniski lakat" i "smrznuto rame". Sva 3 zgloba ruke su bila upaljena i bolna, (doktor se krstio😊). Na ultrazvuku se videlo da je rame bilo odavno u problemu i da ga vučem godinama, iako to nisam znala. Pad sa bicikla je samo pogoršao stanje.Terapijama sam oporavila ruku, ali nešto je ostalo pogađate - smrznuto rame.😣 Evo skoro pola godine kasnije, osećam njegov comeback. Ponovo su mi se ograničili pokreti, neke asane u praksi su mi bolne pa modifikujem. Elem, kako sam istraživanjem svašta iskopala, saznala sam da su žene iz nekog razloga inače podložnije ovoj pojavi🤔, bol se potkrada bez da znamo da ga imamo, a vremenom se stanje zna pogoršati i proširiti na bolove u vratu. U konačnici dođe do ograničenih pokreta u spornom ramenu. . Šta sam otkrila da mi pomaže?✨ Različiti pokreti i istezanja ramenog pojasa u svim mogućim pravcima, a ne samo čaturange do besvesti. Iako ih volim, pokreću zglob samo u jednom pravcu. Masaža obavezno. Mimo ovoga, pomogne crvena konjska krema. U celom ovom miksu svega i svačega, učim kroz još jednu fizičku nelagodnost kako da prilagodim svoju joga praksu i ne idem preko svojih granica u ovom momentu. Klasična mantra strpljen spašen. 요가라는 길을 가는데에 있어서 인스타그램은 참...어렵다. 아니 sns자체가 어렵다. . 만약 훗날에 스승과 제자라는 인연이 이 랜선 세계에서 마주했을땐 어떠할까? sns소통은 약간 불편한 느낌이 들것같기도 하다. 침묵이 필요한 때를 놓칠것 같기 때문이다. 뭔가 말로써의 설명과 자신이 풀어나갈 수 있는 기회를 즉흥적으로 묻고 답해 듣고 싶어하는 날뛰는 마음을 해소하기에 이만한 장애물도 없을것 같기도하다. 집중된 수련을 통한 자기의 경험, 지식이 아닌 다른 사람을 통해 바로 얻고자하는 급한 마음.. 이것을 제어하는 힘이 생기기도 전에 sns나 인터넷 서치를 통해 습득해버리는것이 오히려 얼마나 더딘 발전이 될지 알지못한다. 그래서 사실 sns의 세계에서는 더 깊은 관계로도 발전된다는게 어려운 일일것 같다. 그것을 직시하지 못하는 관계의 결과는 어떠할까. . 예를들어, 요가 수련에 있어 하나의 문을 열고 들어갈때에는 완전히 믿고 그길의 끝이 보일때까지 가고보는것. 또는 이문 저문 열어서 들어갔다 나왔다 다른곳을 구경하고 비교해보면서 가는것. 어떤 경우가 더 자기자신을 찾는데에 가까이 가기 쉬울까? 요가를 시작하고 깊은 단계로 가고자하는 수련자라면 고민해볼 필요가 있다.. . 결국 후회하지 않는 선택만이 스스로 옳았다고 믿게 되겠지만. 마구잡이로 떠오르는 불필요한 생각들에대한 장애를 극복하는 힘이 강하다면 뭐 할말은 없다. . 어쨋던 sns, 인터넷은 수련을 하는데 있어서 장점들도 많이 있는게 사실이고 그만큼 단점도 많은것 같다. 라는 생각이 현재의 나로썬 든다. . 나의 상황은 참으로 답답하다. 이러한 모순의 세계를 알면서도 끊을수가 없는 현실. 멀리 사는 친구들에게 나의 소식을 전하는 공간.. 결혼전 영어공부도 제대로 못하고 온 뉴욕이란 땅에서 한국어로 요가수업을 해야하는 것. 이것을 홍보하는 공간이 되어버린것이다. 그래서 요가 회원분들과도 좋은인연이 되어준 공간이란 점은 감사하다. . 이노무 인스타를 안하고 방치해두자니 몇일, 몇주가 지나면 또 생각이나고.
