#Repost @jenniasanders with @get_repost ・・・ Felt super stiff when I woke up this morning and started doing random stretches while going about my morning... accompanied by weird noises and grunts 🤣 . Decided to just stop, take 5 minutes and start moving - get my whole body involved and do things that stretch me, challenge my balance and required stability . The difference is amazing, I feel so much better after just 5 mins . If you feel stiff, sore or tight - get moving!!! You will feel amazing... rather than randomly doing a forward fold and going "oooo so tight!" It’s also considered to be a calming position which will help to alleviate stress. . 🎓 . ALIGNMENT CUES: #omniyogagirltips 1. Wriggle the hands up the spine, so that the fingers come between the shoulder blades 2. Align the fingers & thumbs, & have the fingers pointing upwards 3. Press the outer edge of the hands into the spine 4. Press the heels of the hands together 5. Think about lifting the elbows away from the torso 6. Draw the shoulder blades down the back 7. Focus on having a long spine, & keeping the collar bones broad 8. *** A good alternative to Reverse Prayer position is to press the fists together, or hold your elbows & work on rolling the shoulders back & down to open them up . 🎓 . Taking it back to the beginning.... While I grew up in very active, figure skating and color/ winter guard, I never payed attention to what I should have been doing for well rounded fitness, and recovery. At 15 I became very ill for the better part of 2 yrs, finally getting a diagnosis of viral induced CFS/Fibro. This took me down and I had to build back up. Around the age of 20, I discovered Pilates. Made myself practice 3-4x a week. All my flexibility, and a lot of energy came back. I sit here as a 39yr old trying to recreate the habit among my crazy schedule. Yoga with Adriane has been my go to for months. Now it's time to add more activities in.
