MOTIVATION! Over the years, I heard of so many different ways to stay motivated and I tried all of them until I discovered what works for me. The biggest lesson I learned is that motivation changes and CONSISTENCY is the key to make real lasting changes. If you're still searching for a way to stay motivated AND consistent, here is what I like to do: 1-Have long-term goal and short-term goals My long term goal was to get healthier and fit, but I always had short-term goals like looking and feeling confident for a reunion in 2 months, or going on vacation. Having both types of goals will keep you accountable and make the long-term goal not seem so scary or far away. Its all about the small steps! 2-Change your workout routine and keep it fun I know that if I get bored with my workouts, I will feel unmotivated. When I feel that boredom start to creep in, I change up my workout and instead try a different class or invite a friend to go for a walk. Remember, the important thing is to find an exercise style (or multiple) that you really enjoy! 3-Think of the “after workout bliss” If I feel sad, or anxious, or tired, worried, etc and I workout, I feel more calm and I think more clear. I know that if I am feeling a little down, I will have more energy and feel empowered if I go get a workout in! I’m all about learning from others so, I want to hear from you. Appreciate the small things.⁠ ⁠ I've been doing a lot of reflecting lately mainly about how fast kids grow up. I get it – we all have to grow up... but there is a certain feeling that no one ever warns you about when you become a parent.⁠ ⁠ It's a mix of happiness and sadness that your kids are growing up. You're happy that they are independent enough to make their own snacks, constantly learning new things at school and thriving with their little friendships. You wish finally lose weight and you are even trying hard but seems like you get too less results? You know things you should be doing but still struggling. . It is crazy how much your brain is affecting your ability to lose fat and finally getting figure you always dreamed of. . You should know that carbs are not the problem. But you still try to cut carbs when you don’t see results fast enough. Even if you know that you should focus on your calorie intake it is easy to fall into track cutting carbs. You know restricting even more will not bring you long term success.. You know it will be only a matter of time before you can’t restrict anymore. Instead to allow yourself to eat and drink anything you want. Obviously you need to moderate your intake and amounts because of your goals. Sometimes you must say NO but remember that it is ok to choose differently and still make progress. . You know nobody is perfect.. . But you still feel disappointed when you don’t see results what you think you should see even you have been doing consistent progress. Perfection doesn’t exist, there will always be times that your progress will be faster or slower than it actually should be. Remember that even being able to keep your weight for a while is progress!! Especially for women, progress is often nonlinear in short period but in the long term you get what you deserve. Just stay patient and believe your progress. . You know motivation comes and goes… . You know the best motivation is results. It is always easy to find an excuse to give up because of lacking motivation. Instead focus on what you can control - your daily actions. These small wins will bring you results. Remember that you can’t control how fast or slow your body decide to lose fat. Build sustainable habits and you don’t need to be always motivated. . It is not easy to overcome these struggles but less you focus on these silly thoughts in your head, the better results you will get. . Stop chasing a goal, aim for changing your lifestyle.
