🍑 Glute Development 🍑 ➡ "The Curtsy Squat" relies on recuiting Primarily Glutes, to be more specific, your Glute Medius which is a smaller head in the Glutes, Secondary Muscles recruited would be Adductors & Abductors. ▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪ 🍑 Gluteal Muscle Breakdown 🍑 ▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪▪ ➡ The Glutes (Gluteal Muscles) are essentially comprised of THREE main muscles. 1) Gluteus Maximus: Basically this is your Glute Major, the main Guy down there, primarily targeted when moving that upper leg (thigh) backwards, such as rising from a squat position. 2) Gluteus Medius: Awkward to explain but essentially this muscle runs from the top of your anterior glute line to the outer side of your glute (keeping it simple its the laterial part of your upper glute). Primarily recuited best when abducting the thigh, think barbell lunges when single support is needed is an excellent example of when this is recuited. (So if you notice your knees collapsing in during your Squats, then your Gluteus Medius isnt Strong enough to keep your Pelvis from dropping forward 🙈). 3) Gluteus Minimus: Slightly just below the Gluteus Medius, and attaches the the Interior Gluteal Line. To keep it simplified, its primarly used in abduction of the hip joint or can stablise the pelvis relative to the femur. Keeping it simplified imagine the leg extending backwards (this would recuit it) 😁.
