🦈SHARKTOOTH🦈 A fearsome session, if you do all the top speeds on our guide you'll cover around 9 km and spend about 20 - 24 min in the red zone 😱 . . . 🏃🏿‍♂️ This session was inspired by a classic Kenyan mountain run, where the top marathoners run hard up an ever increasing steep mountain for around 12 km to build their 'toughness'. . . . ♥️ We've shortened and given it the red zone treatment so that it replicates a classic VO2max 8 min interval. . . . 🏔️ To really turn it into a red zone run we've made the first part of the run fast, a typical 8 min interval speed then we've cranked up the gradient to simulate the mountain-side. 💪 This will keep your higher threshold motor units firing and keep neuromuscular demand high throughout the session whilst simultaneously calling on your ventilatory drive and cardiac pumping capacity to deliver oxygen to every part of your body. . . . 🦈 It's called Sharktooth because we couldn't think of anything scarier than confronting a shark at the top of a mountain (Also the gradient and speed, zig-zags like a set of shark teeth). . . .
