🎯BENCH PRESS- EXERCISE 101🎯⁣ ⁣ 🏋️‍♀️The Bench Press is a staple exercise! When performed correctly, it helps develop your anterior deltoids, pec major, and triceps. That’s a game winning formula!⁣ ⁣ ⚠️Notice how I said this movement needs to be done CORRECTLY. Most people make huge compensations when trying to complete this movement! ⚠️⁣ ⁣ ❌Common mistakes with the #BenchPress:⁣ •Arching your back - This is a great way to put all of the weight on your back and not target the muscles intended! In most cases this showcases that you need to either brace your core or that the weight is too heavy. ⚖️⁣ •Flaring the Elbows - Flaring your elbows perpendicular to your toro so will make the bench press exercise harder and will most likely inflame and potentially injure your shoulders. Make sure to have your elbows in line with your wrists to lessen the risk of injury!🚑⁣ •Bounce the Bar on Chest - When you bounce the weight off your chest you are not properly lowering the weight with total control. I want to loose fat in my thighs! . The most common request I get for a new workout program is “I like how I look everywhere except my back/arms/belly/thighs. I want to lose fat just in this area” My reaction to this is 🙄. . There is no targeted weight loss option. We can’t just lose arm fat or belly rolls. There is fat all over in our body. There are some parts that go first like your cheeks or breast depending on a person. Also working out just one particular area will make your body uneven. Guys who just workout upper body look strange with those skinny legs. Same with girls who work on their booty the most, don’t have strong back and shoulders,so they won’t be able to squat heavy. Everything in your body should be about balance. . If you work out all groups of your body, follow your macros breakdown, keep deficit in calories, you will lose fat in all of your body! . Chest Supported Cable Rows Isolating horizontal pulling strength doesn’t have to be difficult. Bent over row variations are great for developing the overall strength of the posterior chain. They, however, don’t develop the horizontal pull in isolation. Using a bench to support your chest solves that problem. Try these with cables or dumbbells. Cables have the added benefit of maintaining tension thru the entire range of motion. Plus, this tension will be congruent with the horizontal line itself. Meaning you should feel your lats, rhomboids, and mid traps more. Performing these in the middle of your workout after larger exercises such as pull-ups or bent over rows is ideal. The second video shows a single-arm variation. These challenge rotation thru your torso as well. So your core gets some more action.

The picture on the left was taken before I started my 100 day program. I won’t call them my before pictures because I have been on this journey for years. The years have been full of growth and transformations. Some physical, others mental constantly transforming! Ella fit in progress pics before she left this morning to celebrate finishing day 80! It’s kind of funny because my day 80 pictures are fresh off a sleep deprived 4 days eating out and traveling. Clearly you see the physical difference. I didn’t commit to 100 straight days of workouts. I didn’t commit to a diet. I didn’t commit to a goal weight or have any expectations for a physical transformation. I committed to 100 days of loving myself. And to truly love myself it means working out, eating foods that bless my body, self care, personal development, and mindfulness. And for the last 80 days, I have been spot in with waking up each morning, starting my day with gratitude, learning everyday, working out, and eating the right foods. It hasn’t been easy but it hasn’t been hard. It’s just a part of my day and what I do! And as a result I have leaned out and gained strength. I can say that I am working out less than I have in years, loving the journey, feeling great mentally and physically, and finding balance in nutrition. It feels good!!! Your day 1 can begin whenever you are ready but when you are don’t commit to results, commit to loving g yourself unconditionally for 100 straight days. It’s pretty amazing!
