Begin on your hands and knees. Center your breath, and begin to let your thoughts slow down. Turn your awareness inward. Spread your knees wide apart while keeping your big toes touching. Rest your buttocks on your heels. Those with very tight hips can keep their knees and thighs together. Sit up straight and lengthen your spine up through the crown of your head. On an exhalation, bow forward, draping your torso between your thighs. Your heart and chest should rest between or on top of your thighs. Allow your forehead to come to the floor. Keep your arms long and extended, palms facing down. Press back slightly with your hands to keep your buttocks in contact with your heels. Lengthen from your hips to your armpits, and then extend even further through your fingertips. For deeper relaxation, bring your arms back to rest alongside your thighs with your palms facing up. Completely relax your elbows. Let your upper back broaden. Soften and relax your lower back. Allow all tension in your shoulders, arms, and neck to drain away. Keep your gaze drawn inward with your eyes closed. Hold for up to a minute or longer, breathing softly. I chose these in particular as they’re also good for the Vata season. Air element tends to get trapped in the spine making it stiff so twists always help to release it. I particularly sense it in the middle-upper back so I’ve been focusing more on these. While holding this pose we can focus on proper breathing mechanics by breathing in through our nose and allowing air to fill our lungs and to expand our diaphragm. Take strong breaths out engaging core musculature.🙏🏻 . Reaching out our hands as far as we can reach holding this position is also great for the shoulder joint and lengthening your lats which are often very tight. . You can hold this position anywhere from 30 seconds to a minute. Once you can increase your range of motion you can begin adding other flow movements into it like the cobra!👍🏼 . Don’t worry if you can’t get this deep in your range of motion, over time you will lengthen your muscle groups and become a complete fold in harmony!💪🏼 . Hello to #31weekspregnant body and experiences ! Where I'm simply surrending to the fatigue days and insomniac nights that third trimester has brought along significantly. I'm almost week late posting my #PressToLower Not because I didn't take it on time, but when I worked on it I just couldn't get it and I thought I will find some time and energy this week to try again But unfortunately I got to post my ugly attempt of completing this tough sequence I'm happy with my #TuckPress, the lower was going well, but then I lost it and landed that #CrowPose so badly and everything from there was just not pretty . . Who doesn’t love being adjusted in Child’s pose, seriously? 😊 I love giving and receiving an adjustment in this pose! It stretches the muscles in the lower back, elongates the whole spine, creating more space in the body and leaving the student feeling more grounded and relaxed. 😌 . Qui n’aime pas un ajustement physique dans la position de l’enfant, sérieux? 😊 J’adore faire un ajustement dans cette posture mais j’adore aussi le recevoir en tant qu’élève. Cela étire les muscles au niveau des lombaires, allonge la colonne vertébrale, créant plus d’espace dans le corps. Les élèves se sentent beaucoup plus ancrés et relaxés.
