Raj will be teaching at the Bendigo Yoga Festival this weekend. The founder of Vasudeva Kriya Yoga, Shri Rajendra Yenkannamoole has been teaching Yoga in Melbourne since 2004 with the intention of spreading the health and wellness in the community. Currently Vasudeva Kriya Yoga 15 centres spread across Melbourne and one in Bengaluru, India. In the year 2009 with the blessings of his parents, Rajendra Yenkannamoole started the Amruta Yoga Kendra in Girinagar Bangalore with the intention of promoting the positive health in the local community.. Since 2008 Vasudeva Kriya Yoga have been conducting the International Yoga conferences by inviting experts in the area of health and Yoga. In the year 2018 for the first time in the world the International Day of Yoga was celebrated by Vasudeva Kriya Yoga in the Federal Parliament of Australia in Canberra. In the 2015 in collaboration with the Consulate General of India in Melbourne, Vasudeva Kriya Yoga had a privilege to celebrate the 1st International Day Yoga. Since then every year International Day of Yoga in Victorian Parliament is celebrated in collaboration with the Victorian Parliament. Since the year 2017 in collaboration with Dandenong City Council Vasudeva Kriya Yoga has been running Wellness program for teenagers. The founder of Vasudeva Kriya Yoga, Rajendra Damodara Yenkannamoole has Masters degrees in Engineering and Business Administration and currently resides in Melbourne. He started practising yoga from an early age. He has developed a system called Vasudeva Kriya Yoga and has been sharing his experiences in Melbourne since 2004. He has revealed a new dimension of yoga – Divinity in Yoga. Divinity is an integral part of yoga and cannot be separated from yoga. In 2013, Rajendra had published his book Vasudeva Kriya Yoga – Divinity in Yoga. In 2017 the second book on Surya Namaskara was published. - Yoga is not Magic - Say what?? Nee, dat is het niet. Het is niet de enige weg naar vitaliteit. Die magic pill om af te vallen bestaat ook niet, net als die shampoo waarbij een bos met krullen beloofd wordt. 😆 . Yogapractice, het gouden ticket naar een vitaal lichaam en een bendy body? Kan zijn... Starten met yoga met als reden meer flexibel te worden, mobiliteit te trainen of die ene pose van Instagram kunnen? Gaat Yoga om stretchen, meer range of motion in bewegen of flexibiliteit? Veel cues in yoga gaan inderdaad wel over verder gaan, dieper gaan en progressie zoeken in een houding. 🤛🏽 . Maar wist je dat er door yoga ook veel blessures ontstaan? O.a. door de mindset en cues om dieper in een houding te gaan dan dat weefsel in het lichaam aan kan. Zeker mensen die hypermobiel zijn (verder bewegen waardoor botstructuur op elkaar komt) omdat ze de grenzen in het lichaam letterlijk niet aanvoelen. Blessures ontstaan vaak niet door riskante houdingen, maar juist door bewegingen die veel gedaan worden met een verkeerde techniek of gebrek aan stabiliteit in het weefsel. 🤸🏽‍♂️ . Balans is hierin het woord wat belangrijk is. Yoga beoefenen omdat we functioneel meer met ons lichaam kunnen. Flexibiliteit gaat gepaard met kracht, zoals inspanning met rust en Yin met Yang. Alleen maar bijvoorbeeld de hamstrings stretchen kan de zogenaamde yoga butt creëeren; een blessure in de hamstring. Dus kracht opbouwen en rust nemen is net zo belangrijk als de flexibiliteit te trainen van de hamstring om een blessure te voorkomen. 🏋🏼‍♀️😴 . De basis van yoga is: stira sukha asana. Houdingen waarbij zowel zachtheid en ontspanning nodig is als kracht, gelijktijdig. Omdat zachtheid zonder stevigheid slap is en kracht zonder zachtheid hard en afstotend. . Day17 of #DOYOUhandstand is Child Pose or (Balasana in Sanskrit) which is a relaxing pose often used throughout a sequence. • We tend to loose the strengths a child has as we grow to adulthood. I’m talking about mental abilities and behaviors we change as we grow older. If we could go back to a child’s mind, this is what I’d take: 🔅 Being extremely happy and joyful for no specific reason 🔅 Expressing my emotions and feelings on the moment in order to release them. No holding back on a big cry, a big smile, a big shout, a big love, etc. 🔅 Being curious about the simplest things 🔅 Believing in my own reality more than the conventional realty 🔅 Playing while learning 🔅 Being fearless 🔅Being one with the rest of the world without judging other but even so myself.
