🌟 Tuesday Teacher Tip 🌟 • • Who loves a good Camel 🐪 Pose?! • Unfortunately, not many due to the uncomfortable nature of the position. However, I encourage you to keep trying. This pose offers benefits for all but particularly those struggling with thyroid concerns. • • The Camel Pose energizes the body while decreasing anxiety. It improves spinal posture, flexibility, and opens the chest. It stimulates the nervous system and inner organs, such as the kidneys and digestive system. This contributes to detoxification of the body. As well, it increases circulation and stimulates the thyroid. • • Getting into Camel Pose can be challenging, especially for beginners. If you cannot reach your feet without compressing your lower back, make modifications. Those can be placing fingers on heels, using a yoga block for stability (as I've shown) or simply bringing your hands to your lower back. Most importantly, don't be discouraged. Simple changes can make Camel an excellent choice for beginners. Be patient with yourself as you work with this challenging pose and find that place where your heart is open and your spine is arched, but there's no stress or strain. • • Photocred 📸 @megmaransani

Well it’s Ashtanga Yoga with out so many rules. It’s is a series of postures based on a modification of the traditional Ashtanga Yoga primary and intermediate series. Invented by Larry Schultz, who trained with Pattabhi Jois. Simplified Camel Pose - Yoga Series🧘🏻‍♂️🐪 🙋🏻‍♂️: @jlovestherapyofficial • • Sitting in front of the desk or computer ⌨🖱 for long periods of time can cause tension and shortness in the anterior/frontal chain muscles . Try this basic but effective yoga pose to open up and stretch the muscles of the front and open up our upper spine 🙌🏻! All you need is a yoga mat or towel and a few minutes of your day 😉 . The muscles stretched primarily are the: pec major/minor, biceps, coracobrachialis, front delts, anterior neck in the upper extremity . As well as a portion of the superficial frontal fascial line (anatomy trains) 💪🏼 . If the hips are stacked below the knees then the hip flexors (psoas major, rectus femoris , and rectus abdominis are passively lengthened/stretched ↕️ . Camel pose can also be an beneficial mobilization for the digestive system specifically the esophagus 👅 . The abdominal wall is lengthened that can decrease the ability of the body to breathe 💨 "normally" , so it may seem challenging - so remember to breathe deep while engaging your core to find support from the deeper musculature . In traditional Camel Pose you will usually have your hips stacked on top of your knees . But in this video I have modified it to a beginners/ less evasive version of the pose to prevent injury, compression and hyper extension of the lower lumbar spine eg. disc herniations - and instead to bring our awareness to straightening/extending our upper thoracic spine which is most of the time flexed forward into a forward rounded curvature.. especially in today's smart device world (as well as jobs with static postures like office / desk workers ) which can cause hyperkyphosis (hunch back) and possibly pain in the upper back and interscapular area . Which camel pose do you prefer? A or B? - Yoga teachers and practitioners alike have strong feelings about what you should do with your neck in backbending poses - like this one - camel. Some say that A is the only way, that your neck is flexible and your head is heavy and you must therefore use your head as a weight to strengthen your neck. Or something like that. - Obviously, if your neck hurts, do the thing that doesn’t make your neck hurt, A or B or whatever. - I think there’s only a limited amount of benefit for your head to be used as kind of neck strengthening sandbag, and there’s more to got from camel by trying to get more movement from your spine. You can see in comparing the 2 pictures, that while the lumbar spine in both stays pretty much the same, in B the middle part of the spine is moving more. That’s because you’re trying to bend the spine at both ends: moving the neck is really the only way to begin get some movement out of the thoracic spine. Ustrasana is a backbend that boosts shoulder flexibility, increases core strength and stretches the entire front of the body. The name is derived from the Sanskrit ustra, meaning "camel," and asana, meaning "pose" or "posture"; usually referred to as camel pose in English. Practicing ustrasana is regarded as an effective way to relax the mind and find calmness and balance. It also opens the anahata (heart) chakra as the chest spreads wide. The physical act of bending over backwards is also seen as being a way of tapping into the nervous system and slowly discovering all of the emotions and feelings that are stored up within one's self. Kivételesen semmi okoskodással nem készültem a képhez, csak annyit konstatáltam a fotóra nézve, hogy különösen a hátrahajlításaim (az örök mumus, vállaim, mintha betonból lennének..😫) nagyon sokat fejlődtek az egy hetes továbbképzés alatt. Persze, az éjjelnappaljóga még jó, hogy segíti a fejlődést, de sokat is ücsörögtünk az elméleti oktatás alatt, szóval meglep, hogy mennyivel kényelmesebb pl a tevepóz különösebb bemelegítés nélkül is.🐫 Btw kedd esténként ezen a teraszon jógázunk, este 7-től, mikor még jó idő van, de már nem tűz a nap.
