Another D1 program, Rutgers, just upped their game. The shift in approach last couple of years isnt just hitting the weight room. It is preparing for strength & trauma. Yes, alot more work goes into athletes than ever before. Chiropractic care, Physical therapy, massage, cupping, dry needling, rpr, compression, distraction, cryo, hyperbaric and float tanks, etc....plus Body Tempering! Body Tempering was developed by me, an ex SHW powerlifter and former football player (center)! Not quite the messenger you envisioned! 😜 Recovery, you still see a bag of ice now & then but not like the old days where ice was the answer for everything. That & trainers scratching their heads on how they are going to answer the head coach if player will be able to go or not. I used to see some monumental ass chewing from head coaches to training staff. @tankstrainingfacility I know you saw this a few times!😁😁 Not anymore. You may not do Body Tempering but if you did, you would notice immediate change. Whether you choose to believe it or not. It happens. Body Tempering is way outside the powerlifters acceptance curve. The “friction sled”. What the hell is a “friction sled”? A “friction sled” is a sled that’s resistance comes from the friction of the surface rather than weight. This is a conditioning tool and I do not use it for speed work. I keep the distance at 15-20 yards per effort. Again this is what I do for me. If anybody wants to emulate this set up all you’ll need is a tire, a wooden precut circle in the diameter to match your tire (local hardware store), four nuts and bolts, four washers, @spudincstraps economy strap, a little chain, and three to four carabiners @blackdiamond . Drill four holes through the board centered on the tire. Then drill a hole just big enough for the chain to pass through. !!IMPORTANT!! Where you mount your strap is critical! Make sure you mount the same as in the pictures or your sled will take off on its side. Pass the chain through the hole and mount your. Carabiner through two links of the chain. This is just to give play but also to hole the chain in place because the hole is not big enough to pass through. If you drill too big just mount another large carabiner to the chain at the bottom of the board. Now just clip in an go! Pics and links to companies in slide show. I personally love the sled because I can walk outside and go. No prep, just go. Easy. #Repost @bighesstrength • • • • • • What makes a FatBar different than other thick axel bars? 1. @thompsonbowtie designed it to train the bench with it in 2000ish. It didnt catch on then but people are starting to listen now. @storage_shed (insert your story here. 2. It is knurled with 32" power bar ring markings. Plenty of knurl on either side of rings to change grips. 3. It is 49.2mm on the collars. What does this mean? Calibrated and competition plates are 50mm and more often than not will not fit on the 2" axel bars. 4. The ends are camphered making the snug plates slide on like a glove. 5. It is solid. It weighs 80lbs. It has 18" of loading space on each end leaving room for lots of weight and a grip hold for spotters. The solid bar feels much different in a good way. STRENGTHEN YOUR DYSFUNCTION!!!
