I want to be careful about posting 'transformation photos' because I don't want to feed into the idea that one is better than the other, because there is nothing wrong with my body in the first picture, in fact I was happy with how I looked in the first photo which was taken this time last year. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What I do want to show is that slow sustainable changes make a substantial difference over a period of time. We are constantly being fed the ideas that 'skinny teas' and tablets, or one magic drink can help us lose weight. This is false, a lot of hard work goes into building muscle and losing fat and it is not an overnight or weekly occurrence, its years of hard work and consistency. On the other side of that, it's health, it's looking after your body and fueling it with good nutritious food that makes you feel good on the inside and out. It's about having balance, not restricting yourself but actually enjoying food and exercise without letting it rule your life. The changes I made in between these photos were small and incremental, along with overall consistency, your overall health should come first, quick fixes are a waste of time and take too much toll on your mental health, and small positive changes can make a huge difference overall, you just have to accept that it won't happen overnight. ✌🏼

beauty_redefined. You are not a before OR an after. You aren't \"bigger than I was last y

You are not a before OR an after. You aren't "bigger than I was last year" or "finally fitting into my skinny jeans!" or “out of control” in that before pic. YOU aren't captured in a photo or a moment or a glimpse in the mirror - whether you love it or hate it - because you are more than a body. PLEASE have compassion for yourself wherever you are, were, and will be. Your body will inevitably grow and shrink. It means you are human! ✖️Before and after photos (often inadvertently) reinforce the myth that thinness is best, healthiest, and any measures taken to get there are worth it. When (nearly everyone) regains the weight, all that praise becomes silence and shame sets in. And what if your “after” looks like someone else’s supposedly depressing and unfortunate “before”?! That happens ALL THE TIME! ✖️These pics also tend to reinforce the assumption that the way a body looks determines if it is healthy or not. The look of your body does *not* always illustrate balanced eating and fitness in the ways #beforeandafter photos glorify and promise – it’s just not the way bodies work. Many people run marathons, have balanced eating habits, and cardiovascular health — and STILL don’t have a body you would ever see in a fitness mag or typical “after” photo. Plus, LOTS of people go to unhealthy extremes like disordered eating, over-exercising, using unsafe diet pills, and surgery to achieve the look of health and then appear as “after” bodies. Don't forget these photos are SO easily manipulated! ✖️Though it’s tempting to scroll through these images while longing for the days when our bodies will look like “afters” with tons of likes and perfect lives, sometimes those simplified comparison images actually distract people from positive health choices by turning the focus to appearance at the expense of fitness. ✖️Let's stop thinking of ourselves and our progress in terms of how it appears to others. Let's focus on improving how we FEEL and what our bodies can DO! 👊🏽If you want a serious body image boost, find our 8-week online Body Image Resilience Course at link in bio. #morethanabody #seemorebemore #beautyredefined

I’ve been eating clean and just giving my body whole foods for the last month (obviously with some much needed cheat days), and I haven’t felt better than I do right now in my whole life. I’m alert, I’m not bloated, and I don’t feel like I’m so full I could sleep for years anymore. I’ve been tracking weight loss, but it’s not my ultimate goal this time. I feel good, and today I wore a form fitting outfit that I would have never worn a month ago. I’m just thankful for this body and what it does for me. No more shaming it for what it doesn’t! http://liketk.it/2A1Fv #liketkit @liketoknow.it

What are cherry angiomas? #redmoles or #cherryangiomas are common skin growths that can develop on most areas of your body. They're also known as #senileangiomas or #campbelldemorgan spots. They're usually found on people aged 30 and older. The collection of small blood vessels inside a cherry angioma give them a reddish appearance. A cherry angioma won't go away on it's own. You do have options if you want it removed for cosmetic reasons or if it's in an area that is easily bumped, which can lead to regular bleeding. Seeking treatment for cherry angiomas? - Today I received a message from someone saying that they appreciated me sharing the processed foods that I have been eating, as it helps reduce the pressure to eat 100% whole foods. - Knowing that I had that impact on someone truly brightens my day so much. I want nothing more than to spread a healthy, balanced message to my followers, and to show people that food is something that should *never* be feared. - I will be the first to admit that my past diet was *not* healthy. I was eating zero processed foods, following Dr. Greger’s daily dozen checklist, eating a wide variety of whole plant foods, yet I *still* was not healthy (physically or mentally). - I have said it before, but I’ll say it again...I feel that eating in *such* a “healthy” way is typically a form of orthorexia. I *never* would have admitted to being orthorexic before, but looking back, it was completely illogical to avoid nourishing foods just because they weren’t in their “natural” form. - I still thoroughly enjoy fueling my body with optimal nutrition and don’t plan to drown my food in oil or refined sugar any time soon, but that’s not to say that I need to avoid whole grain breads/cereals/crackers, dairy-free “dairy” products, legume pasta, tofu/tempeh, and super delicious [salty] condiments just because they are “processed.” - Processed foods are not inherently “unhealthy.” What *is* unhealthy, however, is placing unnecessary restrictions on your diet. You do not need to be so strict and rigid with yourself in order to be healthy. If you don’t believe me, just take a look at my “progress” highlight and tell me when you think I looked healthier. Back in October when I was eating 100% whole foods, or in recent months now that I’m eating processed foods? I’m thinking the latter🤗 - [ @silk almond yogurt + @naturespathorganic puffed rice + defrosted strawberries + frozen cherries + @traderjoes raw almond butter, & @foodforlifebaking cinnamon raisin bread toasted and dipped in @bluediamond almond milk [because #weird💁🏼‍♀️] ]

Had some time to kill before an acting workshop tonight. Treated myself to Steak Fajitas and asked for extra veggies instead of tortilla, rice and beans. So freaking delicious. I even turned down chips and salsa but the great thing about #foodfreedomforever is I can have a little this weekend if I want.

Let’s talk about 🖤⁣ ⁣ When it comes to love, a lot of pain comes from assumed expectations. Often, people never talk about what they want their relationships to look like.⁣ ⁣ We all have an idea of what we want from a girlfriend/boyfriend/fiancé/wife/husband/partner but we aren’t always able to communicate our expectations.⁣ ⁣ This is also why some people are afraid of relationships. “I don’t want a boyfriend because I don’t want to ____.” ⁣ Then don’t 😉⁣ ⁣ You can decide what you want your love to look like! Isn’t that fun?⁣

Body talk 🦋 It took me 21 years to love my body. Social media is a platform for comparison, let’s be real. I went from chubby, to extremely skinny, to the point where, I got myself in an eating disorder. I was anorexic for nearly 3 years, lost my period for 2 of them, and lost myself in the process too. Drs would medicate me with a thousand different pills with side effects that were even worse than the illness itself. It took me almost losing my life to wake up, and tell myself “you’re worth at least tying to get better” So I did, I tried. People would call me skinny and ugly, close people too, That would demotivate me, to the point where I would go back to starving, simply cause it felt like home. To not get into details, I decided I was worth every effort I was about to give this, I started working out and eating healthy, that’s what got me into nutrition. It took me almost 4 years to reach a body I liked, and I’m still working on it. I will not let anyone try and tell me that I’m not beautiful enough, skinny enough, or curvy enough, Simply because, I am me, and that is enough. I went from weighing 45 kilograms at 180cms, to not knowing what I weigh at all, I just go by how my clothes feel. I’m proud of me... So if you have anything negative to say, To me or to any girl out there, Make sure to notice, the collateral damage of your words. You don’t know a persons past, or present, so you never know how your words will affect them. The old saying, if you have nothing nice to say, don’t say anything at all. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . #selfcare #selflove #eatingdisorderrecovery #anorexia #eating #love #bodypositive #confidence #bikini #photography #photographer #photooftheday #positivevibes #positivequotes #positivity #positivethinking #bodytransformation #body #bodypositivity #bulimia
