💥This study found that using rest-pause sets increased muscle activation more so than traditional sets. Greater muscle activation is correlated with increases in muscle size (Wakahara, et. al. 2012) so rest-pause sets might help increase gains. Try rest-pause sets by performing a typical set of 6-10 reps, rest for about 15-20 seconds, then perform more reps to failure. Happy Tuesday😊! Just realized I am coming up on the 2 month post competing mark this weekend! The last two months have been filled with holidays🦃,date nights🍷, a vacation✈️, and just living life! Other than my trip, I’ve been staying on top of my training (cardio is down, strength is way up💪🏻) and macros (at least during the week😬). I haven’t been perfect but that’s not what it’s about anyways. I am MOSTLY very consistent and have built good habits since I began this journey. My goal is to build certain areas of my body while maintaining a strong lean-ish physique and with hard work and reverse dieting I’ve been able to achieve this! You will not catch me stuffing my face daily in the name of gains, I simply don’t believe adding a ton of body fat is necessary for a female to make lean gains. Some yes, but not to the point where it becomes an excuse to go overboard or feel unhappy in your own body. Your mental health matters!
