Nothing to say, apart from the fact that my life seems like a comedy movie or a circus lately and this pose couldn't describe it better 😂 today everything was perfectly flowing to schedule until I went to the convenience store and when I returned I realized I took the wrong keys, so that my day was delayed by 3 hours that I had to wait at the door for my rommie to come home. Can you believe it? lol Without much money in the wallet and my phone about to die, my options were very few. Now back and ready to catch up on some things and recover some time. . In other news, for today's topic we have intelligence. Being very honest, I feel that intelligence is subjective an that it can be reflected in many areas... . Beyond the cognitive capacity, I admire a person who is able to understand the motivations and desires of the others as well as their own. The kind of person you can have long conversations without getting bored. Someone who can make your mind fly without feeling that times weights on you. Having a blast in Austin! 😍 Taught some cold, but super FUN AcroYoga classes at @wanderlustfest yesterday afternoon, spent the evening relaxing and making homemade noodle soup 🍜 with our hosts and good friends, watched Rick & Morty (who here has seen the show? 🙋🏻‍♂️🙋🏻‍♂️), took an amazing yoga class this morning, and now about to explore Austin/some plant shops 🌱 before heading back to home to Dallas tonight! . . Balance it out. I admit - I’m pretty bad at balancing things out lately. Especially emotionally. I still cannot figure out why, but I’m trying to figure out what’s important for me and what soothes me and what not. It’s definitely a process at the moment. On the other hand, when it comes to my practice I find balance easier in most asanas - even in my not beloved inversions. Maybe my body tries to tell me something and help me getting through that crazy mind 🙈 so here’s a well balanced boat on the already known stool. Returning to practice after injury is hard. Everything feels hard, lol. I tried to move into upward dog for the first time in over 8 months yesterday, and my body was stumped at first. 😂 It’s almost like starting over, in a way. My body has muscle memory now, but also mental roadblocks and fears. And those can both protect me and hold me back, depending on the moment. 🙏🏻 I’m working on #themobilitymethod with @docjenfit, and it is awesome! I’m also doing private classes with @tiny.kirsty, and even though we just started, I feel I’m moving past a huge roadblock. One built mainly of doubt and fear of how to move forward, avoiding injury AND the fear of injury. I feel like I have good tools in place now!! This week I will be sharing 7 postures to strengthen the core muscles. I will be exploring variations of Navasana/ Boat Pose that will get intense and more challenging with every post. Add a twist to your boat pose to increase the intensity of your practice. Not only does it increase abdominal strength, It improves digestive function, detoxes the body, maintains normal spinal rotation, reduces back pain and de- stresses. Sit in sukhasana or samastithi and practice 10 rounds of deep breathing to activate the core before the practice. You can practice a few rounds of sun salutations or you can include this in your daily practice. Enjoy the fifth posture in the series! Include the previous four variations for a quick workout. Boat Pose is not one of my favs, but I've recently started practicing it with the wheel and it has become a whole new pose and challenge. Using the wheel helps me to lengthen my spine and extend my legs so that my toes are eye level. Holding on to the wheel reminds me to lift my chest and pull my belly button in. It not only strengthens the abdomen, it also strengthens the hips and back. Navasana. Well, the kitty fans will love these videos. I had in mind to make three little videos: Paripoona Navasana (full boat pose), Ardha Navasana (half boat pose), and a transition between the two. Little Footie wanted to be my co-star! 😂 // Navasana is a tough pose, there's a lot going on and it's easy for the integrity to drop. I like to be very deliberate about coming in and out - that helps me feel mentally calm: toes up -> dredge heels toward hips and draw navel in, heels off ground -> draw knees toward chest and navel in and front ribs toward the navel, arms out, extend the legs, elongate the fronts of the ankles. // Lately I am particularly fond of half boat pose and the full, spirited contraction of the abdomen - pubic bone to navel, front ribs to navel, navel to spine. I always describe it as the navel is like a black hole sucking matter into itself and becoming more dense! In full boat pose the feet are up higher than the head, but in half boat, the toes and eyes are meant to be at the same height. I see in the videos that my feet are a little low, but I think you'll forgive me for being a little distracted! // Some days I really want to go deep into my practice and I might not allow the pets in my studio. But most days I welcome the little love breaks to snuggle and laugh with them. I have been getting everything in order since I got back late last night from Costa Rica and now I’m starting to feel normal again 😎 Day 15 is low boat to high boat (aka v-ups) 💪💪💪 . . HOW TO: -start in a v-like position where you are balancing on your hips. I show two ways, legs straight and bent. Bent legs works well for tight hamstrings. -lower yourself down until your feet and shoulders are hovering above the floor -pull yourself back up to the starting position. -repeat 10-20 times. -rest 30 seconds -complete 3 sets . . TIPS: -if you feel this in your back and not your core, try keeping your back flatter and your legs bent. -if you want an extra challenge add weight to this by holding a 10-15 pound plate or dumbbell 💪 . . Once every few weeks I have a laughing fit, no joke nonstop laughing for about 15 minutes at my own joke it usually involves crying, some hysterical laughter and usually uncalled for. This usually happens around my husband he’s used to it, lately it’s been happening around my coworkers it happened today at lunch 😭. It’s ridiculous but it’s me and so far my husband finds it entertaining and my coworkers have jumped on the same van and I hope it stays this was. Yes, my search history is filled with “why do I keep laughing uncontrollably, I can’t stop laughing” I’m gonna diagnose me as being funny and laughing so much to make up for everyone around me who isn’t. What does your brain decides to do on its own?

I've been thinking a lot about strength. Strength comes in so many different forms. 💪🏼 Before having my baby, I was strong. Physically, I could lift a lot of weight, I was sturdy, and I had endurance. Emotionally, I was a supporter. I hardly ever cried, and I was good at my job that had emotions running high. I always kept a level head. 🤰🏼When I got pregnant, I was still strong, but different. I stayed fit and active, though slightly off balance. I got my dog a harness with a handle on it and she would help stabilize me on our hikes. I got a little more emotional, and found myself in 2 different hugs with clients who we're going through a lot (I am NOT a hugger 😱🤣) ❤️ Postpartum I dealt with a 16 week recovery. I wasn't allowed to do ANY exercise, and pretty much had to lay around aside from taking care of my baby. I was EXTREMELY emotional. There were times I felt completely broken. Little did I know at the time, I was stronger than ever.. Fast forward to today: 🥰 6 months postpartum. My heart grew 10 sizes. I may not be able to lift the same dumbbell, but I feel stronger. Yoga poses that used to be easy are now a challenge, but still, I feel stronger than before. Something about becoming a mom, growing a human and bringing them into this world just makes you feel like a superhero 💪🏼❤️ Sorry about the long ass post!! Boat Pose Naukasana or Navasana most well-known yoga poses for core strength, tones the ab muscles while strengthening the lower back. Naukasana deeply challenges the abdomen, spine, building strength and steadiness at the body’s core. It stimulates the abdominal organs, including the kidneys and intestines, which improves digestion. This pose also encourages healthy regulation of the thyroid helping to maintain metabolism and relieve stress. Often strenuous at first, this pose requires concentration and stamina n regular practice. Keeping your spine straight, lean back slightly and lift your feet, bringing your shins parallel to the floor.Draw in your low back, lift your chest, and lengthen the front of your torso. Then, extend your arms forward, in line with your shoulders . Take care not to let your lower back sag or chest collapse.The lower belly should be firm and somewhat flat, but not hard or thick.With an exhalation, straighten your legs.
