We all want bigger biceps. They look great in well-fitted white t-shirt, look even better out of them, and help compliment a well-defined torso. Yes, some people will say exercising your biceps is stupid. But some days we just long for the pump. And there's no shame in that. And do you want to know the best bit? Building bigger biceps shouldn't be difficult. It's just that you're probably doing it wrong. You see, there is more to bicep exercises than the dumbbell curl. Yes, we couldn't believe it at first, either. In fact, there are loads of bicep exercises, more than enough for everybody, and I am going to show you the most effective ones. 1. Standing Dumbbell Curl How: Stand holding a dumbbell in each hand with your arms hanging by your sides. Ensure your elbows are close to your torso and your palms facing forward. Keeping your arms stationary, exhale as you curl the weights up to shoulder level while contracting your biceps. 2. Hammer Curl How: Let a pair of dumbbells hang at arm’s length next to your sides with your palms facing your thighs. Don’t move your arms. Instead, bend your elbows and curl the dumbbells as close to your shoulders as possible. Pause at the top – remember to squeeze – before slowly lowering the weight back to the starting position. 3. Incline Dumbbell Curl How: Start by lying with your back against a bench that is set to a 45-degree incline. Bend your elbows and curl the dumbbells as close to your shoulders as you can. The short head is the inner part of the arm and is closest to the body and gives the appearance of fullness and girth, while the long head stretches along the outside of the upper arm, and when trained, increases the "peak" of the biceps. ⠀ Most people only train one part of the biceps and they bombard that part with multiple exercises, which is far from optimal. ⠀ ✅ When training biceps, you want to use exercises that targets both the long and short head. Another important part that you shouldn't neglect is the Biceps Brachialis, which is layered underneath the long head and will help add girth and to push it out and give it a more 'fuller' appearance. ⠀ 📝 To maximize your biceps growth, you want to focus on a couple of things: ⠀ 1️⃣ Lifting more weight over time (progressive overload). ⠀ 2️⃣ Use both Dumbbells & Barbells. ⠀ 3️⃣ Use Compound Exercises like Chin-ups, Push-Ups, and Rows. ⠀ 4️⃣ Concentrate on the Mind-Muscle Connection throughout the movement as well as Squeezing the Biceps. ⠀ What is your favorite Biceps exercise?
