Well, I do have a thing with stripes ☺️ and it looks like it’s not about to change any time soon. But seriously, touching my head with my feet in a chin stand was not something I could ever dream of. But I did practice it, over and over, and by filming myself I saw that slowly, I’m getting a little bit closer.. there were times I decided I’m getting there no matter what, and over did it until it was painful. And here’s a tip- Don’t get to the painful level, try stopping at the ‘uncomfortable level’. It’s amazing how our body can cooperate with us if we just give it the chance.

Handstands.. I FREAKING love them! ⁣ When I first started practicing getting inverted, it was scary AF. I also broke a lot of picture frames off the walls and a few vanities 😅. A lot of people are asking me how many times a week I practice? And for how long? Is yoga practice the only thing I do? Do I go to the gym? What do I eat? So my friends, the answers: I’m practicing daily for an hour and a half for the last year and a half, before that I practiced twice a week in a studio, and before that I was busy making babies and didn’t practiced at all. I’m not doing anything else other than yoga, but I do practice EVERY day. No gym for me, went once and found myself practicing yoga there 😂. I eat pretty much everything I want, (including a Nutella bun first thing in the morning), but I don’t eat a big dinner, usually a salad or a fruit. And I’m simply a better person since I’m practicing yoga.

Handstand Tutorial. Handstand was a real struggle for me. It was a combination of Core strength, balance and flexibility(at least for me). But there are some things that you can do in order to prepare your body for this journey. I’m showing here several things, you don’t have to do all of them, but it’s great if you’ll do some 😊. CACAWWW 🐦. Do you know the difference between Crow and Crane? It's the arms. Crow Pose (Kakasana) is with bent arms, Crane (Bakasana) with straight arms. Duh. Guess y’all already knew that 🤓. ⠀ I truly love them both but Crane took me a while. I couldn’t understand how on earth I will ever get these arms straight. Of course I knew I need some serious core work and arm/shoulder girdle strength. So I did my plank poses, chaturangas and lols (I posted my ways of practicing Chats and LoLas a while ago), push ups, and a long hold crow every day. And … I worked with blocks to gain an understanding of the mechanics. ⠀ My wooden blocks are perfect fie this because they are slippery. I can't rely on them too much without kicking them over. BUT they give me some great feedback 💪🏼. ⠀ If you don’t have blocks don’t fret. You can use a couch, your bed, a gym ball, a chair .. you can use whatever you can find #noexcuses 😜 ⠀ 👉🏼 swipe for the direction of forces ⚡️ #whatgoesupmustgodown ⠀ Personally I like to look forward. My point of focus (drishti) and my hands create an equilateral triangle for a stable base. The rectangle between wrist-wrist-shoulder-shoulder will keep you up 🔺▪️🔺 ⠀ Quick Info 💡 size of my bamboo blocks is 23x15x10cm or 9x6x4in. ⠀ Give it a ry it, leave a comment, ask questions & tag a friend who might need this. 3 Stretches to get you into the splits (Hanumanasana) 😀💕⁣ ⁣ Tip 1. Hold each stretch for atleast 30 seconds to a minute. (hold for longer if you feel comfortable).⁣ ⁣ Tip 2. Practice daily.⁣ ⁣ Tip 3. Breathe...take long, deep breaths in and out through your nose, completely fill your lungs as you inhale and completely empty them as you exhale. A fortnight ago, I decided to take the plunge and reduce my full time job down to part time hours, with the intention of teaching more yoga classes. (City Centre lunchtime class starting in the New Year, more info on that to come...) . . Finally hit up @fly_ldn & it felt so good to be back on the mat 🧘🏾‍♀️ Throughly enjoyed the much needed #slowflow yoga session led by @fifiyogagirl 🙏🏾 It was a great chance, to be present, relax & let go of negative energy 💫 Especially as we are all so busy at this time of year and the fact that we are constantly moving at 💯 miles an hour.
