Embrace the real, the light and the lifestyle." #superhumanyogi The beginning of your journey starts with you imagining where you will be in the future. Don't travel your journey with if's, what if's, might, might not, maybe. Always move forward with a mindset that one day its going happen. The problem most have is the "deep valleys of despair". Deep valley's of despairs are the low points along your journey. When the low points are presented to you, you have the option of keep believing and working or "I give up". Be patient, let time take its toll from the work you put in, keep working and everything happens when it is suppose to. Day 1 you are not going to go from a beginner level to an advanced level, it takes time. Day 2 you will not go up 2 levels overnight. Let the rushing go, free your mind and live! Although this recent IG Buti Challenge is over, the inspiration to film and share isn’t. Today my body was really in need of deep opening and therapeutic yum. I began with #selfmyofascialrelease using a lacrosse ball on the wall for 10min, rolling out my back, shoulders, scapula, chest and hips. Then moved into supported Yoga poses that open shoulders, chest and thoracic upper back. All you need are a few (even 2)foam blocks. Resting and breathing in these poses, allowing the body to relax and release tension. Never underestimate the power of #restorativeyoga ! My newest video on posture correcting stretches with a resistance band can be challenging, but very rewarding as long as a gentle and thoughtful approach is practiced (especially for people with chronic pain or who are inflexible, out of shape, or older and less resilient).😁 . I definitely benefit most by doing them in the progression shown or they can be done paired with the first or second one as a warm up. I think doing these prior to The Wall Exercise (thumb through my posts)would be a fantastic combination.😍 . I will be doing some of these in my class tomorrow and then we will get into SI 10, UB 38, and TW 15 with the tennis ball 🎾 to add a therapeutic component to the stretches. Now for the core strengthening piece...hmmm🤔 I will be thinking about that tonight, but I have a couple of ideas. 😃 . Repetition of movements in a progression encourages lengthening, ROM, and agility. Clients and students can keep their eyes closed to increase relaxation (for those who can) or to increase difficulty for those who need to work on balance. . These can be done in your bedroom, living room or outdoors. • Started out with some roll downs-> inchworms which are good for spine mobility, hamstring flexibility, core\glute engagement and scapular stability. • Plank->lunge-> T-spine rotation: stretches the hip flexor, thoracic spine while engaging the glutes and core. • Isolated hip flexor stretch: ever since my hip surgery my right hip cannot get enough of this guy. • Definitely recommend adding them all in regardless of how active you are.
