Давайте проявлять случайные акты доброты, наполняя себя чувством счастья и положительной энергией🙏 Привожу список из 50 небольших добрых поступков, которые не требуют больших денежных или временных затрат, зато имеют долгоиграющий эффект. • D R O P B A C K S • Friday means I did my #primaryseries practice this morning, but regardless of the #ashtanga series you usually practice, all include #wheelpose ( #urdhvadhanurasana ) and #dropback s as the beginning of the finishing postures. . What I'm learning most about dropbacks and #catching is the absolute importance of the legs. This is something that I've 'known' for a while now, but recently I'm really starting to feel the difference and understand what it means to truly use the legs. It's another one of those instances where you may think you're using them, but probably not nearly as much as you should. . Always a work in progress. Home practice is hard. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I miss my friends and my shala. Life seems a little up in the air right now and sometimes I have a hard time letting go because it’s hard wired in my DNA to keep after what I want and not taking “no” for an answer. I like a clear path and purpose to pursue. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ But I am learning to surrender and accept the things outside of my control. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Letting go is hard work. Mainly because it takes a lot of strength to get to the point where you trust yourself enough to just release. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ This practice is really more of a practice in letting go than almost anything else. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ It’s a surrender. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ You get to a point after you pushed and pulled and tried and tried and resisted it long enough, and then finally you realize: letting go isn’t the same as giving up. ⁣⁣ ⁣ And then you can. ⁣ ⁣⁣ It’s deep work and much easier said than done. So if you are struggling and fearing what will happen when you finally release, keep going through it. Недавно мне смотрела гороскоп очень крутой астролог, она обратила внимание на силу моего гнева. Сказала, что в прошлой жизни, скорее всего, была ситуация, когда я не справилась с этой мощной энергией и что-то очень значимое разрушила. И что в этом воплощении я боюсь своего гнева, вернее последствий его проявления и повторения разрушающей ситуации, поэтому подавляю его автоматически, порой даже не замечая его. I will always remember the teacher who first taught me this pose in Honduras. She was a woman who, while drifting through the botanical gardens of El Progreso (@mahchiguillermo), could coax blue-winged butterflies to land on her shoulder while holding seemingly fluent conversations with songbirds. When we talk about compassion we usually speak about it in terms of how to treat others. But true compassion starts with us how we relate to the world, how we treat our bodies and how we care for ourselves. It’s like the saying “how you treat others as a reflection of yourself” and this is true. Yoga has made me understand that the first person I need to take care of his myself whether it’s my sobriety, my behavior or outlook. I have to take care of me, so that I can help other people inside and outside the yoga room. When I look at compassion I realize that it’s not conditional it really encompasses everyone. Forgiveness is one of the aspects of compassion and helps me lay the groundwork living the life I want to live. Life is good today but it wasn’t always. So today, I’m going to live my best life possible. @karmacaptures 📸📸

Pose of the week - Janu Sirsasana As part of our NY’s resolutions we are back with the #PoseOfTheWeek of the Ashtanga Primary Series. - With a little (big) help from our students we will be able to continue building the sequence and more important, get to know our students different perspectives and ways to approach each pose. This week we have Carmen, Tim and Natalie for Janu Sirsasana (a,b,c). - We asked Tim about his personal experience: I’m fairly new to Ashtanga so for me everything is a benefit and a challenge! I’m still searching for the right way to enter into the posture, while focusing on my breathing. - One of the benefits I experience during Janu Sirsasana is the extension of my back. I feel the built up tension releasing more and more and it allows my muscles to relax. I used to have a lot of tension in my shoulders but I’ve noticed that it’s getting less and less. I think these postures contribute a lot to it. My hamstrings stretches and my back extends, meanwhile I’m trying to suck in my stomach so I can move better into the posture. - Challenges: Everything is still a challenge 😊. The biggest one is the C posture because I’m still struggling to get my foot to reach the floor. My hip needs to open more. So patience and practice. - Tips: Breathing… and remembering that it’s not the destination (the right posture), but the journey that counts. You’ll get there in the end... Week 32🌿 This week we will continue with #bhujapidasana (arm pressure pose) Benefits: It cleans the oesophagus (Anna Nala). The strength of the wrists and arms are increased giving balance and lightness to the posture. At first beginners will touch the forehead to the floor. (see @sirisyoga for modifications) As practice of this asana progresses the chin will touch the floor whilst looking at the nose🙌 Have a look at Siri’s beautiful post, both the modification and the pictures! My thoughts is to suck belly in...🤪.. When jumping in, try to keep your legs high up on your arms. Squeezing legs and feet together and make yourself small like a meatball! Back to catching up... So this is Titibāsana (version B, C and D) for yesterday's day 7 of #alliscoming2019 challenge. I decided to do these versions cause they look so funny...plus in this video I nearly fall in B and it reminds me of when I first got this posture. Again like other postures which came before I thought "sure yeah I can do that, no problem)... To them being faced with the reality of receiving it... Seemed my flat feet and soft body didn't find it so easy and I spent a fair while falling forward and backwards and all over my mat until I learnt how to find balance! The journey can be fun! I actually love how this practice can teach us humility and prove to us how little our minds know.
