PARTIALS - THE BEST TECHNIQUE FOR SIZE AND STRENGTH YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT Last year at a @flfperformancecentre seminar one of my biggest takeaways was about maximising your output within a session by working smarter, not just harder. Muscles are weakest in their shortest position. Think how long you can hold a dumbbell at the top of a bicep curl vs holding it about halfway down, it's a big difference! Looking at this pulldown, if I had stopped when I first failed then I would missed out on challenging the muscle fibres earlier on in the movement. Keep it controlled and avoid the temptation to use momentum to move the weight, focus on the muscle doing its job. I’m just not as strong as her or I’ll never get that strong or what I’m doing isn’t good enough...⁣ ⁣ Every now and then I have those weeks. I was telling Thomas about it in training today. Last week I was following a few amazing female powerlifters and watching some of their lifts. Women that are smaller than me and much stronger than I am. I started to think ‘Fuck look how strong they are, way stronger than me, it’s going to take me so long to get to my goals, I’m not good enough, I feel weak in comparison to them them’ ⁣ ⁣ So I had to give myself a quick 𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐩 😂😂 and I asked myself am I willing to do what they do? Am I willing to put more hours into training and work less in my business and shift my focus? What is the most important thing to me right now? ⁣ ⁣ The most important thing to me right now is my business, serving the women in it, growing it and making our program better. It’s important I show up every session, be consistent and be better than I was last week and that I practise leadership by example.⁣ ⁣ So I stopped comparing myself to these amazing women and instead focused on how far I’ve come and the progress I’ve made. I also realised it’s not realistic for me to train 4 days a week. In the last 3 months I’ve probably done 2 maybe 3 of my 2nd bench days. Three days is realistic and achievable for me so next program Thomas is going to write me a 3 day program. ⁣ ⁣ So if you’re comparing yourself to others stop 🛑 focus on the progress you’ve made. Show up every session, do the 1% and be better than the week before. AND ask yourself what’s most important to you given what’s going on in your life? This is why we program 3 days a week training for the women in the Winatlife program - it’s achievable.! ⁣ 125kgs x 4 x 7 ⁣ ⁣ I had to remind myself to look at these women and feel inspired and impressed at their hard work and dedication - instead of comparing 🙏 ⁣ P.s how juicy and awesome does @tombro7 butt look, I’m a bit jealous 😂😂😂😂🍑⁣ ⁣ #strengthtraining #winatlife #consistency #dontcompare #progressnotperfection
