ADVANCED SPINE LATERAL FLEXION Join me in March 2020 for my next super engaging and fun 3-day workshop. I teach this spine lateral flexion principle, along with many other helpful teaching techniques and queuing. Side bending is never enough!! Without spine length, a side bend, as in mermaid, compresses the spine. I created this advanced variation to teach that principle. During this exercise, if you bend to the side, you will actually end up on the floor. 😵 This is a high-level balance exercise that requires understanding of body mechanics, and quality of movement. This exercise demonstrates the importance of lengthening up to laterally flex the spine as opposed to simply side bending.. Want to learn more?
