Try sitting hips to the floor, bringing feet forward and wide, knees bent, inner thighs resting on the back of your arms and hands to floor or on blocks out towards inner ankles. Alternatively, sit on a chair, thighs wide and bring chest forward. To support heels that aren’t grounded, try placing a dense (non slip) blanket or wedge under heels. Seated Rows are one of my favourite exercises for targeting the mid to upper back. It is also a compound movement, meaning that it engages secondary muscle groups (along with your back) such as the biceps, posterior deltoids, and traps. Here are a few tips I found helpful to keep in mind when performing this exercise: - When performing back exercises in general, focus on pulling the weight with your “elbows” as opposed to from your arms.
