Hellooooo new recipe! 👋🏻 This one came in the nutrition materials for my new bootcamp. It’s technically overnight oats but I stirred it all together and ate it as an afternoon sweet treat when the rest of my team at work went to get ice cream and it was SO YUMMY. 🍦 • Just because I’m so nice 💁🏼‍♀️ I’m sharing this one with you. But there’s so much more where this came from! Who wants the rest? 🙋🏼‍♀️ • 1/2 cup dry old fashioned oats 🥣 1 scoop protein powder (I used chocolate 🍫 #shakeology - recipe calls for strawberry but that’s not my favorite) 1 tbsp chia seeds 🥄 1 cup unsweetened almond milk 🥛 1/2 cup sliced strawberries 🍓 • Combine dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Add 2/3 cup almond milk and mix well. Soak covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. When ready to eat, top with 1/3 cup almond milk and strawberries. Concentration camp survivor Dr. Viktor Frankyl says "To live is to suffer; to survive is to find meaning in the suffering.” Gratitude, is a key to finding meaning in the suffering. . Whatever you are proactively grateful for grows stronger. The more you recognize and express gratitude for the things you have, the more things you will have to express gratitude for. ONE MORE THOUGHT: Why include an episode on gratitude? What does this have to do with fitness? Although not as easily measured, emotional fitness, is unquestionably a part of being fit. I'd go so far to say that if we aren't at least reasonably, emotionally fit the rest doesn't matter. Gratitude IS the anti-dote to everyday low-level woes and poor-me thinking. From Biblical times onward, every single philosopher and thought leader embraces the power of gratitude for improving our mindset, attitude and abundance, regardless of the amount of material abundance in our lives. It's that important to living a fulfilled and happy life. Thank you for watching. By the way this "Thank you" is a reactive form of gratitude. You did something and I thanked you. It's genuine but still it's reactive. When you are learning how to meal prep, you have got to know some health and safety tips to store your food. ⁠ ⁠ 🍎I try to use glass containers as much as possible for my food prep (mason jars or pyrex glass ones work well) because you can see what is in them and microwave them. If you decide to use plastic to store, use BPA free plastic.⁠ 🍎 Cool your cooked food down before storing in the refrigerator or freezer because hot food placed in the fridge(boiling hot) the salmonella bacteria can spoil the food very easily in the fridge. Give it 20 minutes to cool and then put it in the refrigerator.⁠ 🍎 Nobody likes freezer burned food that tastes like old ice.
