This is an amazing stretch and very supportive using the foot bar just below the base of the shoulder blades. Core contraction helps to elongate spine. HELICOPTER VARIATION Playing around with the @balanced_body arc and various infinity foot bar positions, I discovered this wonderful helicopter variation. CLIMB A TREE VARIATION • • Here’s a great climb a tree variation that offers stability during rotation and lateral hip flexibility. With my three disc herniation‘s, rotation can often agitate my spine. After double arm and single arm rowing, I moved to upper back extension. It’s important that the core muscles are completely engaged to prevent any lower back hyperextension. The more I lifted my core, the stronger my upper back felt. With my three disc herniation, I have avoided spine extension exercises. This one truly helps me to isolate the movement and work my upper back without flaring up my lower back. Butt and core engagement are paramount. #palmspringspilates #athleticpilates #pilatespalmsprings #palmsprings #fitness #macgyverpilates
