Leto.⛱ Vrućina. ☀️Uzbuđeni ste jer konačno dolazi vreme za vaš godišnji odmor...😃 Ta radost praćena je ujedno i neizvesnošću kako će to odsustvo uticati na telo i teško stečene mišiće? 🙀 Najbitnija stvar jeste da budete svesni činjenice da je posle dugog i jakog trenažnog ciklusa, telu potreban i kraći odmor kako bi se oporavilo od nakupljenog nervno-mišićnog stresa. Intenzivna trenažna opterećenja zahtevaju i visok nivo mentalne koncentracije koja ne može da se usmerava na mnoštvo ciljeva. Kada koncentracija slabi, trening se izvodi sa manje pažnje i manje motivacije. Zato je bitno praviti u takvim periodima kraće pauze. Zapamtite, bolje je i odmoriti, nego gubiti na kvalitetu treninga! Organizmu je potreban oporavak i time izbegavamo pretreniranost koja vodi ka povredama i lošem učinku. Inače, pretreniranost se odlikuje povećanim pulsom u stanju mirovanja, gubitkom telesne mase, neprekidnim osećajem umora, čestim povredama, poremećajem sna, deprimiranošću… Ako ipak odlučite da bi ste odradili koji trening i tokom odmora, mali savet bi bio da birate adekvatan hotel (apartman), koji ima teretanu ili se nalazi u njenoj blizini. Ja sam na svoj put na primer poneo par rekvizita (vijaču, tuber, sklekere, elastične trake). Svoj trening možete odraditi ujutro nekim laganim futingom uz more na plaži, tokom popodnevnog odmora na balkonu apartmana, pored bazena. Budite aktivni na odmoru, ponesite pedometar, šetajte, plivajte, provozajte džet ski ili možda jogu sa prijateljima... Nemojte ceo odmor provesti u sedenju, hrani i piću. Odmorite aktivno! About three years ago, I saw a photo of myself and absolutely hated how I looked (second photo). My workouts were inconsistent, stale, and unfocused. Today, I'm in the best shape of my life. Progress wasn't always linear due to some nagging injuries, and it took years of hard work, diet changes, bouts of dysmorphia, unlearning bad practices, dozens of 3+ hour workouts, hundreds of dollars in workout gear/equipment, and probably a thousand hours worth of YouTube videos (s/o to @athleanx and @jeffnippard) in order to come up with the best training program for myself. And throughout it all, I've been constantly reminding myself that goals are nothing without tactics. But honestly? It's not worth it. I did it to prove to myself I could, but maintaining this would require sacrificing so many of the things I love (beer, going out with friends, staying up late, supporting local restaurants, mom's homecooked meals, and most importantly, cheese). But different people have different priorities, so you do you. I'm not trying to discourage anyone - just letting you know that for "regular" people who don't make a living off of being fit, it demands a ridiculous level of sacrifice (please refer to @robmcelhenney's Sept 5, 2018 IG post). Just aim to be the best version of yourself, and be better than you were yesterday, whatever that means to you. Now excuse me while I look for the best disco fries in NYC.

The reality of an at home gym consists of a couple things:⁣ ⁣ 1. Space ⁣ 2. Weights or the equivalent ⁣ 3. WiFi/data/hotspot⁣ ⁣ Those are the basics! ⁣ ⁣ My set up on the weekend is normally like this picture. I’ll workout on the side of the house. I’ll put the laptop on a storage bin or the BBQ, then workout! Weekdays the laptop goes on the coffee table!⁣ ⁣ Simple.setup.people!⁣ ⁣ You do not have to have a gym at home to workout either! Wanna know a secret? I didn’t buy weights until I was 5 months deep (i just improvised!)
