Because I missed transformation Tuesday, here is a transformation Thursday instead. Makes to the little bit of a throwback to 2015. Same shirt, just a whole lot less me. I'm pretty proud of how far I've come so far and even happier than I had my lowest weight and over 12 years today. Tomorrow is my birthday, and even though I'm not a 100 pounds Down, like I had originally wanted, I'm still stoked to be 92 pounds down. I know I'll tackle those 8 pounds later. Motivation: Sometimes it’s not easy to find......especially to workout. While in an Uber this morning, the driver asked me how to stay motivated to workout consistently. My advice? Be honest with yourself about when to workout. If you’re not a morning person, don’t plan to do morning workouts. Morning sounds great (and it is because it’s a great day starter), but picking a time you don’t particularly care to be doing anything only makes being consistent more challenging. Next, find a workout that you enjoy. There are a TON of workout options (spinning, dancing, running, boxing, pilates, total body conditioning, yoga, etc.) If you don’t like what you’re doing, you definitely won’t keep it up. Finally, consider changing how you view working out. If you treat it like a burden, then it will be. Can you disassociate your upper body from your lower body? . What I mean by this is; can you do something with your upper body, such as rotating to the left, while keeping your lower body stable? AKA: rotating your body from the abdomen up while keeping your lower body from the hips down, facing forward. This is something all humans should be able to do. However, with the help of tight muscles, lack of daily movement & flexibility, many of us cannot do this! . . Try doing so in a mirror and see if you can or cannot! If you cannot, throw this simple exercise into your warm ups tomorrow 🙂 . . *shoes should be off* .Start with both of your toes up on a bar/half foam roller/dowel, etc.. . •Reach your hands allllll the way up taking a deep breathe. . •Let your hands follow the path of your body down to your toes. . •Repeat this 3 time. SECONDLY: place one foot with your toes on the bar and the other foot with your heel on the bar. Both feet close together touching each other. . •Extend on arm up with the other behind your back. . •Slowly bend down following the path of your body to your feet. . •Pause at the bottom switching your arms before rising to the top. . •Repeat this 4 times before switching feet positions. . Give it a try and let me know what you think!
