It is a tricep exercise.. not a back exercise. To focus the tricep you have to keep the elbow still (or relatively still) as the triceps are an elbow extensor muscle group. To do this you have to stand closer to the cables and go straight down rather than standing super far away.. if you’re far from the cable column your elbows will be pulled by the angle of the cable. Use physics while lifting.
