It is important t

What should I do first, foam rolling or stretching? It is important to be aware that tight or overactive muscles not only switch off the antagonist through reciprocal inhibition, but they can also become active in movements that they are not normally associated with. When you attempt to correct a muscle imbalance, you should always first inhibit (by foam rolling) the overactive muscles before lengthening them, because trigger points are prone to react to stretching with a defensive tightening. Lengthening tight muscles helps to restore their "normal length". Furthermore, you cannot effectively strengthen muscles that have trigger points because these fibres are already physiologically contracted. You should therefore activate weakened muscles only after the first two phases of inhibition (by foam rolling) and lengthening (by stretching). Please be reminded that if these muscle imbalances are not effectively addressed, the body will be forced into a compensatory position that increases the stress placed on the musculoskeletal system, subsequently leading to injuries. Do you know the differences between grip positions for shoulder Front Raises? The deltoid is a rounded, triangular muscle located on the uppermost part of the arm and the top of the shoulder. The deltoid is attached by tendons to the skeleton at the clavicle (collarbone), scapula (shoulder blade), and humerus (upper arm bone). The deltoid is widest at the top of the shoulder and narrows to its apex as it travels down the arm. Contraction of the deltoid muscle results in a wide range of movement of the arm at the shoulder due to its location and the wide separation of its muscle fibres. Supinated Grip/reverse grip, with palms facing the ceiling as opposed to ordinary front raise with your palms facing each other. Full supinated position will place the most emphasis on the anterior deltoid. The more you pronate your hand, the more it allows the lateral head to contribute to the movement. Exercises for your glutes: Want a behind that helps your sports performance and attracts admiring glances? Then start training it. Plenty of men train their legs at the gym, but you'll rarely see them working specifically on their glutes - unlike women, who are usually only too keen to focus on them. Strengthening your glutes will improve your ability to run, jump, squat, deadlift and compete in pretty much any sport, but you need to be doing the right exercises. I see a lot of guys in the gym just do leg presses, leg extensions and leg curls, none of which work your glutes effectively. Here are some samples exercises for your glutes. Having tight glutes is a common problem and one that can restrict hip mobility, which has a negative impact on strength, sporting performance & Yoga poses (such as forward bends). Maintaining good form and going deep during the eccentric phase of a lift will combat this by lengthening your glutes. I'd also recommend foam rolling your glutes regularly.
