My favorite way to work back muscles and triceps 🔥 You can see me engage my core before starting the move by pulling navel to spine to prevent my pelvis from going into an anterior tilt which wouldn’t feel good on the lower back. ➡️ As you straighten the arms in the tricep extensions, make sure to reach the straps as far back as possible to get those triceps really fired up! ➡️ Add a little back extension for the last few tricep extensions to get deeper into the back muscles. ➡️ If you squeeze your shoulder blades together and down during this move, you’ll tap into the rhomboids 👍 Strengthening these will improve your posture! . #saranpilates #TrainWellLiveWell #pilates #reformer #reformertraining #rhomboids #backstrengthening #posturework #atlantaWorkout

I taught these kneeling abs variations in my classes this morning - it feels nice to have the box there to place the forearms down (great for anyone dealing with wrist issues). ⭐️PRO TIPS⭐️ Kneeling abs: - try not to pull from shoulders. Keep shoulders over elbows. - it’s the deep scoop of your navel and pelvic tilt that is moving the carriage forward. - for the side version: keep both hips pointing straight ahead and lead with the knee you’re turned towards. . I love training my fiancé @jaredwalkerdostie on the Reformer. A few years back he was big into Jiu-Jitsu and MMA and even competed in amateur matches. So although his hips are very flexible (thanks to the Jiu-Jitsu) his hamstrings and back are pretty tight from years of construction along with desk work - nothing a regular Pilates routine can’t fix! 😉 .
